"I was involved in a car accident, I needed a spinal fusion and knee surgery as a result. When I arrived at Hunter Rehabilitation and Health surgeries having been completed, I was in a physically wasted state, my mental health was also impacted by this and I had pretty much given up on life, I was 45. My exercise physiologist was Josh Kessler and for the first time in a long time, I felt like the medical professional listening to my woes was for real and actually cared about me and my improvement. I had been to many over the past 3 years and all of them just pushed too hard, did not care and were not listening to me or understanding my personal situation. Josh's ability to guide my rehabilitation is the reason I'm the best I can be physically at this point in my life and I'm hopeful that I will have even more positive physical progress on the horizon. "For the past few months, I have been attending sessions at Hunter Rehabilitation and Health due to a workplace accident that happened some time ago but had left me with a neck injury that was causing me to suffer with quite severe headaches. I found all staff to be super friendly and very helpful. My physiologist, Josh Kessler always met me with a smile and was very easy to converse with. He was always encouraging me with all my exercises but never forceful. He was caring and thoughtful and I received the greatest of care whilst attending my sessions. "Since my horrific crash in February 2022 and after initial Physio, I was sent to Hunter Rehab for exercise physiology. There, I met the wonderful staff who always greeted everyone with a smile and a caring nature. They made attending appointments a welcome pleasure. It was here that I met my exercise physiologist - Joseph Smith. His empathy, professionalism, knowledge and ability to work with you to achieve your best would be rated as one of the best I have worked with. I am certainly glad Joseph got me to where I am now. He also likes some good banter which also made it more comfortable to do the work required. That doesn’t go without saying, I have made some good friends with the other physiologists. "I am so pleased with the treatment I have received at Hunter Rehab and Health. Daniel, my EP, has been so helpful, patient, informative and encouraging with my strength training and recovery. I first sought out his assistance in December 2022 after having bad neck and back pain, and since my treatment plan with him was developed and maintained, I now am so much better!! My pain has SIGNIFICANTLY decreased, my sleep is far better and I am loving life again once more! The exercises were built up gradually and in a way that I could maintain and that were totally doable, which I really appreciated. It wasn’t a huge dreaded program with countless steps and actions that was overwhelming, but rather a careful and considered plan that I actually enjoyed doing. Since seeing Daniel, I have now developed healthy habits of going to the gym 3 times a week, something I have never done before in my life, I have never been so consistent. I have quadrupled my neck strength and seen / felt a definite change in my overall strength, posture and muscle definition. This treatment plan actually works, and is executed in such a way that anyone could do it and see results.
