"If there was an option to give negative stars I would. I was requested to provide a letter from my GP which I thought was reasonable for clearance purposes...after providing this I was asked for a "more detailed" clearance from my GP.. I provided neurosurgeon clearance, the more "detailed" GP clearance aswell as scan reports only to be asked for another letter from a neurosurgeon that DISCHARGED me from care last year as "fully recovered" Dr Kelly Gabathuse or something to that effect noted in her referral that "Treating Dr is NOT to comment on patients physical suitability for the proposed role" Which in itself makes me wonder why she wanted these reports for any other reason than a power trip but, here we are. I provided this updated clearance from the neurosurgeon..I was given clearance from sonic health only to receive an email 2 days later explaining that they couldn't open the letter and asked me to send the password to open it. So effectively they delayed my clearance for 4 weeks because of a critical report...that they never opened, yet cleared me anyway. I don't know if this is a good time to mention it took them 4 attempts to get my email address correct. Anyway I'm loving my new role, and I'm confident that the practice is running in the incompetent fashion as when I left 3 months ago. ✌️"
"They do not inform you beforehand that over the counter, legal cough medication will result in a non-negative result on the drug test, even if you inform them that you are taking the medication before the test due to recovering from influenza. Then they charge you nearly $300 for an additional review by a doctor on top of the cost of the medical to say "Yes, it's okay to take over the counter cough medication." A nice racket!"
"Unhelpful, rude, had to call back multiple times to book a pre employment medical. More interested incollecting $ than providing a service. Best to go elsewhwere!!!"
"Worst experience I’ve ever had in a medical facility. If your workplace or insurer books you here, I recommend you request to go somewhere else. You’re highly likely to be left out like many of these other reviews. My employer didn’t receive results to my tests for 4 weeks. I was on the phone to the centre 9 times and was left feeling frustrated, lied to and appalled after each encounter Janette/Annette needs to quit or be moved on. She is hands down the most hostile, rude and unhelpful receptionist I’ve ever dealt with. Her colleagues appear intimidated to ask her questions as she’s one of the senior receptionists. The other 2 receptionists I dealt with were 3 stars for the lady and 2 stars for the male. Both unable to provide help for files I was requesting and openly lied about “sending results to my email” or “I will chase that up for you”. When I followed- up to ask where the files were, there was another excuse lined up. The sonic health setup the receptionists are working in is appalling too. They are unable to provide results to patients without a doctors permission (the centre had zero doctors working this week), they can’t provide data due to privacy concerns (I requested data for my 1 yr old son but was unable to get anything because they needed to speak to him… he can’t say words yet) and they mail results to letterboxes four weeks after they’re in (results which anyone can open, there goes your privacy concerns)."
"I've recently been for a pre-employment medical at Sonic, the staff were friendly, however the rest of my experience was awful. There was no parking anywhere around the facility, the service was inefficient and the examination far too intensive. The second doctor was also quite rude and kept interrupting my responses to her questions. Upon completing the medical (2 hours later) I was told the results should be sent to my employer soon, my employer didn't receive these results for over 3 weeks, as a result I couldn't begin my new job before the end of the year, and instead will have to begin a month later than expected. To any potential employers looking for this service, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere."
