"My near new Tiguan had as it turned out, a faulty sunroof runner and woke to find the headlights filled with water and 6 inches of water on the cabin floor. I rang the big Volkswagen Centre at west Gosford for advice, they said: if it starts scoop as much water out as you can and drive it to us. I rang half way and said: the heater and other bits and pieces on the dash weren’t working worried for my safety. He assured me I was safe. On arrival they said: we will vacuum the water out and give you a service then take it home and l ave the windows open to dry. They did nothing about the headlights filled with water, charged me $700 and told me to take it to the auto electrician down the road. I did. He was horrified they let me drive half an hour from my home and told me to call my insurance company from his office. The arrived in no time, checked out the car and said: take everything out you want and hand us the keys…it’s a total right off and the Volkswagen Service Centre endangered your life, your car was failing electronically and could have caused an accident. You should be refunded your $700 and receive an apology at minimum for negligence and a lack of Duty of Care. I called immediately and the manager was humiliated and highly apologetic, leave it with me he said: the next day I received a call from another man who said: in an extremely coercive bullying tone…Madame we did our best for you and your car and now it’s not our problem, goodbye. Several mechanics have said since, they always tell the person to call their insurance company first and don’t turn the car on. Gio replaced the Tiguan, they were amazing."
