At Jetty Medical Centre, we understand the challenges of running a business in today's economic climate. In light of rising costs and stagnant Medicare rebates, we have made the difficult decision to implement charges for all our services, starting from March 2023. Our fees will be structured on a tiered system, with reduced rates available for pensioners and health care card holders. However, rest assured that children under 18 and DVA white and gold card holders will still be bulk billed. Please note that Saturday appointments will be privately billed.
We value your time and convenience, which is why we offer both in-person and phone appointments. However, please be aware that all appointments, including phone consultations, will attract a fee. Phone appointments will be limited to ongoing script repeats, ongoing specialist referrals (if seen physically in the previous 6 months), or for individuals with COVID-19. We understand that this change may cause some stress, so please feel free to discuss any concerns with your doctor.
As part of our commitment to your well-being, we strongly recommend that all individuals over the age of 6 months receive an annual flu vaccine. Our dedicated flu and COVID vaccination clinic provides bulk-billed appointments, administered by our experienced nurses. If you do not qualify for a free vaccine, we can provide you with a private flu vaccine for a cost of $20.
When scheduling an appointment, most consultations typically last between 10 to 15 minutes. If you anticipate needing a longer appointment, please inform our receptionist at the time of booking. Additionally, if your appointment is for anything other than routine care, such as medicals for insurances or driving licenses, minor surgical procedures, immunizations, pap smears, etc., please let our receptionist know in advance. The first consultation may require a double appointment to ensure enough time is allocated.
We kindly request that if you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can accommodate other patients. As a private billing practice, we ask that private patients settle their consultation fees at the time of their visit. We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa, and MasterCard payments. Medicare rebates can be claimed on the same day, and our reception team will guide you through the process.
Jetty Medical Centre is committed to accessibility, with wheelchair-friendly entrances and ramped parking areas at both of our locations. We strive to provide a comfortable and inclusive environment for all individuals.
Our dedicated team includes Practice Manager Emma Hallett, Office Manager Melanie Wilson, a group of experienced nursing staff including Annette, Ashley, Leann, Michelle, and Lorraine, as well as our friendly and efficient reception staff including Rebekah, Dee, Catherine, Mandy, Melinda, Tracey, and Katrina.
You can find us at our Berkeley Vale location at 3/10 Lorraine Avenue, Berkeley Vale NSW 2259, reachable at (02) 4388-3985, or at our Long Jetty address at 338 The Entrance Road, Long Jetty NSW 2261, reachable at (02) 4332-6430. Our practice operates from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and on alternate Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We are closed on Sundays.
