"One of the best spots to photograph a sunset over the lake. When it's a bit smoky or dusty, the sky goes a deep orange at dusk with an interesting horizon as well. Excellent moonsets at night if you are lucky with a reflection over the lake. Lots of birds at sunset. Flying foxes after dark are aplenty in old gums and a fig tree. Plus all the other stuff people have said. Not busy except near the boat ramp on hot days."
"Great little spot for a picnic or a party, only one sheltered area with BBQ facilities, but it's a large one shared or for one big event. There is hall that can be hired via Lake Macquarie City Council. Short bike track, boat ramp, nice shoreline, excellent playground and lots of open grassy park area for activities."
