"I wanted to layby two pieces of jewellery that come to nearly $3000.00, however this shop would not let me do that. I had my eye on further pieces of jewellery that I wanted to buy later. I was told, initially that I could layby for three months and suggested that the price may change with the gold prices after six weeks. I also had my eye on a beautiful wall clock that I was given a price for. About two weeks later, I was ready to pay it off on the three month layby, I was told, no, we only do one month layby. Then I was told that they made a mistake with the ticketed item and it should have been a higher price. Hmmmm. I took advantage of the price, I just bought the one jewellery item outright and the clock. Id rather pay off my credit card and vowed that I would never walk in that shop again. I had my eye on about $5000 jewellery, but they made it very difficult for me, so I will shop elsewhere. The clock I had eyed had gone up $20.00 and I fought to get it at the price quoted. The owner did give it to me for the price I was quoted, so I give him credit for that. Sadly, he was hellbent on getting 1750.00, however lost the opportunity to get $5000 and loose a customer. I usually pay for my laybys early and am a regular payer with my laybys. I know of other jewellers where laybys are not a problem and even extend if you are making regular payments. Buying my choker should have been a happy experience, however I was disappointed in the inconsistencies of information of the staff working there. Make sure you get your quotes in writing and write down what is said to you, if you decide to shop at this store."

"This place is an old-fashioned jewellers - and not in a good way. 36 hours to clean a small pendant (that I bought there so they cleaned it for me). Said they would ring when it was ready - of course, they didn't. Service is slow and always feels like they are doing you a favour. This is not just from one transaction either - every time it's a long drawn out drama. Never going again - there are hundreds of other jewellery shops that treat customers better than this."
