About the Business
Welcome to the Multi-Arts Pavilion (MAP mima) Lake Macquarie, a vibrant institution located in the picturesque surroundings of Speers Point, Creek Reserve Road. As an establishment and point of interest, we strive to provide a platform for artistic expression and cultural exploration.
At MAP mima, we hold deep reverence for the land on which we stand. We remember and respect the Ancestors who cared for and nurtured this Country, and it is in their footsteps that we travel these lands and waters. Lake Macquarie City Council acknowledges the Awabakal people and elders, both past and present, for their custodianship of this land.
As part of our commitment to fostering creativity and celebrating art in all its forms, we collaborate closely with the Museum of Art and Culture Lake Macquarie, located at 1A First Street, Booragul. Together, we form a dynamic duo dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of Lake Macquarie.
Situated at 96 Creek Reserve Road, Speers Point Park, our Multi-Arts Pavilion is a hub of artistic activities and events. From visual arts to performing arts, we offer a diverse range of programs and exhibitions that cater to all ages and interests. Whether you're a seasoned art enthusiast or simply looking to explore something new, our institution promises to captivate and inspire.
In addition, we are proud to present the Warners Bay Theatre, located at the corner of Lake and Johns Streets, Warners Bay, as well as the Rathmines Theatre at 25 Stilling Street, Rathmines Theatre. Reviews
"An unattractive, ill-considered, and impractical building with a lovely but undersized cafe 'appendaged ' to the side. The art space within is limited, inflexible and uninviting. Perhaps the building could serve as a mausoleum for the victims of its designer and of the committee that chose this design."
"This is an excellent little cafe with beautiful views of the lake. The staff are lovely, so friendly & one young lady even remembers my name & my order. You can also take your dog with you both inside & outside. My sister & I love having brunch there."
"No seating, no shaded areas close by, stale & cold cement building which only needs life & shade. Suggest putting in shaded areas, lots of wooden seats, gardens & trees. For people to enjoy both day & night hours! The tiny Cafe is a plus but once again no.shade, not many seats & not much variety... come on Lake Mac you can improve it so much with some more plants, shaded areas & life!!"
"A little building embedded with art that transforms from a 360 projection space to an outdoor stage. The coffee is also excellent."
"Very special building, unique and fantastic location. Loved the immersive digital media experience and the sound activation around the building. Great coffee too!"
