Established in 1985, Toronto Community Child Care Centre is a community-based, not-for-profit institution. This means that all the fees collected from families go directly back into the center, allowing us to provide the best resources and services for your child. We are proud to be run by a parent committee, composed of parents of children attending the center, ensuring that the decisions made reflect the needs and interests of the families we serve.

With a capacity of 55 children, our center offers a warm and inclusive environment for children to learn, grow, and thrive. Our philosophy revolves around the principles of Being, Belonging, and Becoming, which are divided into five learning outcomes that we work on with each child throughout the year. We believe that children learn best through play and hands-on experiences, encouraging them to become independent thinkers and problem solvers.

In addition to our regular programs, we also offer a comprehensive transition to school preschool program. This program focuses on developing essential skills such as social interaction, numeracy, literacy, turn-taking, and conflict resolution, providing children with a solid foundation for their future academic journey.

At Toronto Community Child Care Centre, we believe that parents are the first educators and that your input is invaluable. We welcome families to actively participate in our center through our family participation program. We encourage you to contribute to your child's portfolio, share your thoughts, and become involved in the center's decision-making process. By attending our management committee meetings, families have the opportunity to ensure the continued operation of the center, enhance the programs provided, and build positive relationships with our dedicated staff.

Our center operates from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. We are open for 48 weeks per year, closing for four weeks over the Christmas period and on public holidays. Our fees are calculated on a daily rate and are inclusive of all meals and resources used by the children. We follow the Good for Kids, Good for Life Guidelines to ensure that our menus are nutritious and balanced.

To ensure the safety and well-being of all children, we kindly ask that food not be brought into the center to protect those with allergies. We also request that all belongings be clearly labeled with your child's name for easy identification. Children should come dressed in comfortable and practical clothing, allowing them to participate in all the experiences provided.

Enrollment at Toronto Community Child Care Centre requires a copy of your child's birth certificate, immunization printout from the Medicare website, and customer reference numbers for both you and your child. Additionally, two weeks' fees in advance are required to complete the enrollment process.

We provide families with access to our policies and handbooks upon enrollment, ensuring that you have all the necessary information to make informed decisions about your child's care. We are always available to provide a full copy of our center policies upon request.
