About Life Matters
Welcome to Life Matters, a renowned establishment located at 29 Donald Street, Hamilton, Australia. As a health-focused institution, we are dedicated to providing exceptional services in a safe and supportive environment. Our aim is to help individuals reveal and address various aspects of their lives, ultimately leading to a life with less suffering.
At Life Matters, we understand the importance of mental health and its impact on our overall well-being. Our team of experienced psychologists is here to offer their expertise and support to individuals and couples alike. Whether you are facing personal challenges or seeking guidance in your relationship, our psychologists are here to listen and guide you towards a healthier and happier life.
One of our esteemed psychologists, Alison Sykiotis, specializes in couples therapy. If you had the opportunity to ask her three questions, what would they be? Alison has taken the time to answer some of the most commonly asked questions, providing valuable insights and advice.
In 2020, we were proud to be part of the Boys Do Cry campaign, a thought-provoking initiative that aimed to challenge societal norms surrounding masculinity and mental health. By partnering with like-minded organizations, we strive to break down barriers and encourage open conversations about mental health.
Unfortunately, there still exists a quiet stigma surrounding mental health. At Life Matters, we believe it is crucial to collectively address this stigma and create a more supportive and inclusive society. Our clinical psychologist explores the concept of mental health and suggests ways in which we can overcome the existing stigma.
We also acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land, the Awabakal people. As an institution, we strive to honor and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
In addition to our physical location in Hamilton, we offer our services online through Telehealth. This allows individuals from all over Australia to access our psychologists from the comfort of their own homes. We understand the importance of accessibility and strive to provide convenient options for our clients.
Whether you are in Sydney, Newcastle, or anywhere else in Australia, our team of dedicated psychologists is here to support you. Take the first step towards a healthier and happier life by booking a session with our psychologists online.
At Life Matters, we believe that mental health is a journey we can all embark on together. Let us support one another in embracing mental health and creating a society where well-being is prioritized.

Reviews of Life Matters
"If I could give mitch ( psychologist) and the admin staff a 10 stars I would. They are so lovely and give their clients such a warm welcome whenever they arrive. Mitch is amazing I have been seeing him for over 2 years now and he is so relatable and personable I recommend everyone to them because I think they are fabulous great work mitch and the staff"
"Could not speak more highly of Matthew and Lynne and their caring nature. They also ensure that access is accessible and that I make it safely from my vehicle to my appointment and back. Nothing is a problem to them."
"Fantastic workplace! A lovely practice that's providing a very unique, helpful, and loving approach to Psychology across the Newcastle area."
"If I could give zero stars I would. The main concern is the $$$ amount they can achieve out of vulnerable patients for little effort. My wife booked an appointment where they took a $60 deposit for a $230 session. 1 hour after realising the practices cost My wife booked elsewhere for free under the mental health plan. Immediately calling back to cancel the appointment she spoke to a receptionist who stated "well your now going to have to wait months to get in somewhere else". My wife still went ahead with cancelling the appointment where she was then told the $60 deposit is non refundable because that's the admin fee to book an appointment which took 5 minuites to set up. When speaking to the team leader she was aggressive and unsympathetic towards the situation. I highly recommend choosing a different practice with your health and best intrest as a priority. Edit- response: For those reading the owners' responses, take that as a small sample of the empathy and service you're going to receive. An initial welcome email was sent 10 minutes after the phone call with the receptionist. This was obviously a standard template, so find it hard to believe it would be worth $60 of time. This did include a link to complete an assessment, general information details, and a credit card authorisation. NONE of these were completed as the appointment was cancelled literally 1 hour after the call. Completely understand business costs and that if my wife was set up as a clien, this may have been a30-minutee process. However, as you can see, this is a blatant lie from the business as no such account or client profile was set up. So essentially, they are suggesting a 10 minute phone call with a receptionist, and a template email is the equivalent of a $60 charge. If the business took more time taking care of patients instead of lying on Google reviews, they would probably be a better company. 'High level of care' is laughable considering we dealt with them for all of 10mins- shocking response. Beware - triple the fee, and I doubt you will receive a caring experience judging on the response here. I hope this review can prevent anyone struggling and in need of mental health support to seriously reconsider and look elsewhere. (5 star reviews also include staff members! So, not actual clients)"
"Cannot recommend kaine enough for behavioural Therapy. He is fun and engages my child in a positive way. He has us laughing ( me in tears of laughter) for most of the sessions with his crazy scenarios and reenactments, but it works as the messages are getting across to my son and he is learning in a fun way. I am also learning how to help my son. Life matters has a very relaxed vibed going and the waiting room is very comfortable. 5 stars all round"
