"I'm beyond Grateful and satisfied for the amazing service, I had a tooth extraction today and it was very smooth sailing Dr Matthew gives clear instructions on how I needed to improve my dental hygiene without being nasty about it. I've had some very bad experiences with dentists but Dr Matthew has restored my trust in seeing a dentist he gave clear instructions during the procedure, I was also quoted a great price for a general clean which I will definitely be booking in for. Highly recommend ❤️ can't wait to go back !"
"We have used the services provided by this dental surgery since 1979. In that time there have been three different teams. In my opinion Dr. Mathew Kurian, the current practitioner, is providing the best service. Due, in my younger days, to lack of both fluorene and my knowledge to use dental floss, my teeth are somewhat compromised. Dr. Kurian's repairs are timely, effective, durable and very fair value. I am very happy with his service."
"Unfortunate attitude and appalling advice. I had a cracked molar (didn't realise at the time but it was actually cracked down to the root and part of the nerves had started to decay). The pain was HORRIFIC - I was on 4-hourly Panadeine Forte as well as Ibuprofen just so I could exist. Mathew didn't have an appointment until a Thursday ("emergencies only") and as it was an emergency, I booked into the first dentist I could find on the Tuesday (at Charlestown) to see why my molar was shooting white-hot pain into my skull. She was shocked - large crack all the way through - and said that the only possible way to save it was root canal therapy - but it might need an extraction if it was cracked to the root. She didn't have time that day so gave me a script for more Panadeine Forte. As I had the existing booking with Mathew she suggested I go to see Mathew on the Thursday appointment and get the process started for either root canal, or an extraction. So for two more days - in extreme agony - I waited until the Thursday appointment. At which Mathew then CARRIED ON about "how this isn't an emergency" and "I'm not here to give a second opinion" and "do you realise I have to deep-clean the surgery due to Covid?!". The whole time my pain was insane (made childbirth look like an ant bite) and I explained that I went to him to start treating this cracked molar as HE WAS MY REGULAR DENTIST. His response? Oh it's probably just sinus and I should clear my sinuses to TREAT THE PAIN. Long story short I went back to the Charlestown practice, the tooth was completely shattered and could not be saved and I had to have it extracted. I will never go back - the complete disregard he had to what was a clear emergency situation where I was in a huge amount of pain due to the completely cracked molar, and berating me for "wasting his time" during a pandemic. He needs to learn compassion and to listen to someone when they say something is not right - not to just brush them off with "oh it's just your sinuses"."
"Would not recommend this dentist to anyone! I had some enamel filled and when I returned home, I realised Mathew Kurian had covered only the top of the tooth and not the side. My tooth was still very sensitive and exposed. When I called back to ask for him to have a look he refused a follow up appointment and told me to use sensodine toothpaste."
