At Community Kids Thornton, we open our doors from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM to accommodate children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Literacy and numeracy concepts are seamlessly integrated into play-based learning, allowing children to engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.

One of our unique features is our dedicated studio space, which invites innovative ways of working with unique materials. Through project work, children have the opportunity to visit and work in the studio space over time, collaborating with peers, educators, and specialists. This project-based learning approach promotes the integration of learning areas and skill sets, fostering problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.

To ensure your child's nutritional needs are met, we provide healthy and freshly made meals created daily by our in-house cook, catering to all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators not only strengthen relationships but also provide opportunities to share stories and experiences, while modeling healthy eating practices. Additionally, we offer hot coffee and a snack to go each morning for parents.

At Community Kids Thornton, no two days are the same. Our educators and children regularly explore the local community through excursions and walks, and we also visit the Maitland show and art gallery yearly. We welcome special guests and community members, including the library, to the center based on the children's interests. Through our parent app - Xplor, you will receive daily photos, meal and nap times, as well as updates on your child's learning and development.
