This service is crucial as one in six Australians suffer from some form of hearing loss, and this number continues to rise. Currently, more than 400,000 Australians are dealing with severe or profound hearing loss, which can be attributed to factors such as aging, noise exposure, or occupation-induced hearing loss. Shockingly, a study conducted by the University of Melbourne reveals that approximately 350 children are born with permanent hearing loss each year.

The impact of hearing difficulties extends beyond the individuals afflicted and affects their friends and families as well. This is where Lions Hearing Dogs Australia truly makes a difference. By providing a furry companion who serves as a set of "furry ears," they offer support and assistance to those in need.

We are thrilled to announce that on the 25th of March, our beloved Cocker Spaniel, Betty, gave birth to seven beautiful puppies. Betty has proven to be a natural and loving mother, immediately bonding with her newborns. She tends to all their needs, from nourishment to playtime, ensuring their healthy growth and development.

As the puppies grow, they are now exploring the grounds of our breeding center, progressing from the inside to the outside patio and puppy yard. Betty remains by their side, eager to guide and teach them how to interact with the world.

At Lions Hearing Dogs Australia, our mission is to provide a set of "furry ears" to deaf or hard of hearing Australians in need. Additionally, we offer Medical Alert Dogs to Australians living with type 1 Diabetes. You can also become a Puppy Sponsor by contributing directly to one of our puppies in training, joining their exciting journey from puppyhood to becoming an Assistance Dog.
