"Interesting mix of fresh fruit and vege, fresh baked goods and seedlings. Pasta man has delicious goods."
"Looking for something for breakfast? How about something for lunch? Or even picking up a delicious bagel, tamales, gozleme, fresh pastries, coffee and more whilst you pick up fresh local produce - seasonal vegetables and fruit for the week? There are also gourmet meats and cured delicacies like a variety of kabana and Sausages, handmade cheeses, honey and cakes. Looking for something other than food? You have oils, hand creams, scents, flowers and plants. Spend a few minutes or a few hours here. It's fun, delicious and the stall holders will offer you samples and are very friendly and helpful. You'll do much better here than any supermarket. The quality and vibe is great! Come check it out!"
"Great range of different fruit and veg stalls along with meats and bakeries. Prices are all reasonable. Coffee is OK but drinkable. All the vendors are friendly and helpful."
"Our first visit to the Southside Farmers Market and it's definitely a place to comeback to on the weekends. Heaps of fresh produce from local and organic farmers. We picked up some amazing figs for an absolute bargain as well as some glorious small capsicums. Those were the standout from our haul. We also enjoyed a chicken tamale and a bean pupusa from an El Salvadoran stall and the were incredible. Also got some takeaway donuts that were very tasty. The markets also have lots a food sellers, places we will need to try in the future, as well as florists, cheese mongers, bakers, specialty pet foods and specialty butchers. Lots of things to try in the future. Only small downside is parking, but that just goes to show how popular it is."
"This market is one of my favorites in Canberra because it has a great atmosphere, excellent coffee and always a great busker/music and plenty of variety in stalls. These markets usually open at 8am on a Sunday. There is no charge to get in and they are dog friendly, so bring your fluff ball with you! Some of the stalls only accept cash so bring some with you. There is an ATM on site too just in case you forget. The price of fruit and vege here can vary a fair bit depending on what you are buying but the quality of it has always been good. There are always plenty of stalls that have bread, pastries, fruit and vege, seafood, meats and pasta. There is also a great stall that sells home made moisturizers. There is also a couple great stalls that sell plants. Whether you are after vegetable seedlings or flowers (grown or seedlings), you will find a good range of the seasonal plants available to purchase. There is normally a good amount of seating available at these markets, either in the sun or shade (depending on how busy it is) and also normally plenty of parking on the grounds or just across the road at the Edison park car park. There are also public toilets at these markets so no need to panic if the urge arises! Go an enjoy the atmosphere!"
