Welcome to the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), located at 38 Thynne Street, Bruce, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, ACIAR is dedicated to promoting agricultural research and development in the Indo-Pacific region.

At ACIAR, we are committed to supporting gender equity in the agricultural sector. Through our initiatives, we are working towards empowering women in countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, and Timor-Leste. These efforts are made possible through a collaborative partnership between ACIAR and Canada's International Development Research Centre.

Our Annual Operational Plan for the 2022-23 year outlines the context and objectives of our work program in the Indo-Pacific region. Additionally, our Annual Review showcases the highlights and achievements of ACIAR throughout the previous year.

We are proud to introduce Professor Wendy Umberger as the new CEO of ACIAR. With her expertise and leadership, we are confident in our ability to drive impactful change in the agricultural research field.

One of our notable initiatives in the Pacific is the John Dillon Fellowship, a flagship capacity building program. Through this program, we are enhancing the research leadership skills of 15 Pacific islanders, enabling them to contribute significantly to agricultural research in their communities.

ACIAR is dedicated to improving outcomes for smallholders and their partners in agri-food chains. We strive to enhance the livelihoods of fishers through productive aquatic farming systems and sustainable fisheries. Additionally, we are focused on improving the production of fruit, vegetable, and ornamental crops.

At ACIAR, we firmly believe in putting people at the center of agricultural research-for-development. Our initiatives are designed to empower individuals and communities, ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth in the agricultural sector.

To guide our efforts, the ACIAR Corporate Plan 2023-24 outlines our six objectives, as set out in the ACIAR 10-Year Strategy 2018-2027. Through these objectives, we aim to drive innovation, foster partnerships, and achieve meaningful impact in the field of agricultural research.
