Yuma Dhawura nguna ngurumbangu gunanggu Ngunnawal. Nginggada dindi dhawura Ngunnawalbun yindjumaralidjinyin. Mura bidji mulanggaridjindjula. (Translation: This country is Ngunnawal ancestral and spiritual homeland. We always respect Ngunnawal elders, both male and female, as well as the Ngunnawal country itself. They continue to honor the pathways of their ancestors and walk together as one.)
At Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve, we proudly acknowledge the Ngunnawal people as Canberra's first inhabitants and Traditional Custodians. We deeply recognize the special relationship and connection that the Ngunnawal people have with this Country.
It is important to acknowledge that prior to the displacement of the Ngunnawal people from their land, they were a thriving community whose life and culture were intrinsically linked to this land in ways that only they understand and know. The separation from their Culture and Country has had enduring and profound effects on their health, well-being, cultural practices, families, and the continuation of their law and lore.
We also acknowledge the historic interruption faced by the Ngunnawal people of Canberra and their surrounding regions. We honor and appreciate their significant contribution in caring for Country. For countless generations, they have maintained a tangible and intangible connection to these lands and waters, encompassing cultural, social, environmental, spiritual, and economic aspects.
Furthermore, we acknowledge the Ngunnawal people as the traditional custodians of the ACT and recognize any other people or families with a connection to the lands of the ACT and region. We respect and value their enduring culture and the invaluable contribution they make to the life of this city and region.
Come and explore the wonders of Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve, where breathtaking landscapes, cultural significance, and the beauty of nature seamlessly come together. Experience the serenity, immerse yourself in the rich history, and create unforgettable memories in this remarkable destination.

Reviews
"Great reserve with a good variety of birds of prey. Go on a clear windy day and look just at or above the treeline and you will see eagles, kites, and kestrels. The Flame robin is harder to find but glorious to behond."
"Gorgeous, open woodland country. Easily accessible. Perfect for lazy long walks, and short cycles. Reminiscent of what the landscape around Canberra looked like prior to settlement. Plenty of wildlife to be seen and views looking back into town."
"Great walk upto Old Joe Hill. 3.5 hour round trip but well worth the effort"
"It's okay. To get the nice view of canberra, you have to go off the main trail and it's easy to get lost as its unmarked"
"A very beautiful and scenic nature reserve within very easy reach of anyone in Canberra. Great cycling and walking trails and abundant wildlife."
