Amaroo School
About the Business
Welcome to Amaroo School, located in the picturesque suburb of Amaroo in Australia. Our institution is a point of interest and a leading establishment in the education sector.
Amaroo School was meticulously designed to provide a nurturing environment for children from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our journey began on 19 May 2004, with the opening of the first section of the school. The inauguration was graced by Ms Katy Gallagher, MLA and Minister for Education, Youth and Family Services. Initially, we welcomed 154 students, ranging from Kindergarten to Year 5. However, our commitment to education excellence led us to expand our offerings. In 2005, we extended our classes to Year 8, followed by Year 9 in 2006 and Year 10 in 2007.
In 2008, we incorporated a Preschool into our institution, allowing Amaroo School to operate as a comprehensive Preschool to Year 10 school. Today, we proudly educate and support a diverse community of 1971 students.
Enrolling at Amaroo School is a seamless process. We prioritize students within our 'Priority Enrolment Area' (PEA) and adhere to the policies set by the ACT Department of Education and Training. Our dedicated Front Office can be reached at Ph: 6142 1266, while our Senior Office is available at Ph: 6142 1269. For any inquiries, please feel free to contact us via email at info@amaroos.act.edu.au.
At Amaroo School, our commitment to fostering a love for learning, providing a safe environment, and nurturing the potential of every student sets us apart. Join our vibrant community and embark on a journey of growth and achievement.

"There's lots of future social rejects here and I clearly see that their futures are gonna be miserable because of the way they act. Some kids are harassing me and I feel like it's only because I have autism it's not nice lol"
"The best decision we made for our children’s education was move our kids here. One is now doing well in university and our other is in year 10 and really happy and doing really well. The teachers are sensational and actually care about the kids. I’m actually going to be quite sad when we’re not part of this amazing community. It’s been absolutely sensational. Great teachers, programs and experiences for our kids which have set them up for the future. I would love to shout out each teacher, but there are too many."
"This school Is absolutely AMAZING!! the canteen has great prices and a great range of delicious food! The sickbay is really good at fixing all the problems and they do first aid so well! and the bathrooms are perfect! they are spotless and super clean and people only use it when they need to. AND the school has great students, especially the year six up, they are so responsible! and the neighbouring school is totally amazing and the kids definitely don't throw rocks at people. The pricing on excursion is super affordable and have low prices. there is one minor problem though, the local stores nearby are really bad and they make horrible hot chips that absolutely no likes. although that depressing topic the in school activities are great too, especially the athletics carnival and cross country. and there is so much space between assignments and the teachers are so understanding of students problems. and the most recent building is a greeeat addition to the school, leaving plenty of room on the much loved hill. The water in the new building is horrible and the primary bubblers taste like absolute heaven"
"When I walk past the school, there are kids in the bushes ripping down trees and making cubbyholes, they also made racist remarks towards me and one of them with an Afro chased me down with a tree down horse park drive. They throw sticks at people walking past and yell and scream like they are monkeys. They also climb the trees and throw tennis balls at people. I see teachers chasing them and they run across the road and hide in jacka."
"Hamstring by pathetic policies by the education department, this school is completely ineffective at dealing with bullying. It's 2023 and we live in the capital of Australia, not some war-torn African nation of the 80's. There shouldn't be a class divide to have your kids be safe at school, but there is. I recommend not sending kids to this school."
