Reviews of Universal Express Group Mitchell
"It is maybe not the smartest idea to aggressively tail-gate a family with young children in the car, whilst driving a van with both the name and contact details of your employer on it…"
"OMG what a disaster this company is. I ordered a desk from Desky and it was shipped the next day which was when all of the issues started. Allied express handed over my order to Universal Express in Mitchell Canberra. My order sat in their Mitchell depot for 3 days. After numerous phone calls, I was told that my order was coming on that day which didn't arrive. I was told this twice. I went and picked up my order myself from Mitchell because Universal Express couldn't deliver it. When I was there, one of the staff was more interested in adjusting their monitor then customer service. I cannot order from Desky again because they use Allied Express which use Universal Express. Universal Express need to change their name to Universal Mess. Companies like Allied Express and UPS need to divulge which shipping companies they use before you order from them. I will never purchase any product that is being sent by UPS or Allied Express again. Universal Express does not believe in customer service. I want to give them zero stars. but the only good thing was that the man on the counter helped open the door for me to take my parcels away."
"This company is completely rubbish. I suppose the service depends on the driver's day, but let us run down some facts. 1. The driver has no phone. They cannot contact you for deliveries. 2. To authorise the driver to leave the parcel with a building manager, you must sign some ludicrous piece of document which delays the delivery window by at least one working day. WHO DOES THAT? HOW IS A VERBAL AUTHORISATION NOT ENOUGH??? 3. They WILL NOT dial the apartment intercom if they can just slither through the front door into the main lobby. This has happened THREE times. How is ANYONE supposed to know there was a delivery then? 4. Many, many companies outsource to this horrible courier service without the customer's knowledge. Among these companies, UPS is included. UPS is one of the most expensive services to deliver with yet they outsource to a freight company that cannot afford work phones for their drivers. Pathetic, vile. Another company is Allied Express, a horrendous freight company in its own right. 5. I still do not have a tracking number. The one for UPS does not work on their site from the 90s. The UPS tracking updated the next day, so there are obvious communication issues between the two companies. So combine points 4 and 3, how is the customer supposed to get the parcel without any prior knowledge? Am I supposed to wait for these fiends in the lobby? God save the drivers if this company cannot even afford a phone or someone on Fiver to fix their horrible website's 90s UI, I can only imagine how low the wages are, how nasty the HR is and how depressing the work environment there would be. I would like to recommend anyone to stay away from them, however, you simply have no choice. Freight companies will not let you know who they outsource to. For now, Allied Express and UPS will lose a customer. I am sure they do not give a damn but I hope anyone trying to do business with them from Canberra sees this review."
"I saw all of the negative comments about this company and was pretty worried about my shipment, for no reason at all. I found them to be quite good actually. The website tracking was good and the deliver guy was terrific. Considering it was 3 days before Xmas, it all went pretty well."
"Carded me on delivery of Christmas present right before Christmas, told me to collect from Mitchell or authorise leaving in a safe place (despite me providing standing authority to leave). Slip, or rather A4 sheet of paper, said clearly they would be open until 5:30 Friday 23rd, arrived 3pm Friday. Attendant said I was lucky I ran into anyone as they’d been “closed” since 2pm - again, not printed anywhere on their “slip” - and didn’t have my Christmas present as it was still locked in the delivery drivers truck, and he’d gone on Christmas break with a truck probably full of presents for Canberrans who’ll be in the same boat as me! Didn’t offer any option to help, might get my present in week between Christmas and New Year but their office would be closed so if I get carded again my present will be locked up somewhere in Canberra until new year. So, basically the opposite of Christmas spirit - I’d say grinch like, but that insults the grinch, he at least delivered on his promises. Guy I spoke to was rude, no even slight attempt to understand or help fix the problem, only to explain why I was lucky to have caught anyone at all, let alone admit this was a really poor outcome for families or be accountable for what’s likely a sub (or, sub sub contractor). Clearly felt it wasn’t his problem, and his Christmas break was more important. Business discredits UPS and Amazon, which feedback I’ll pass up the chain."
