Fadden Primary School
About the Business
Welcome to Fadden Primary School, a beloved institution located in the heart of the Fadden community in Australia. Established in 1985 and named after Sir Arthur Fadden, former Australian Prime Minister, our school has a rich history and strong connections with past, present, and future families.
Nestled high in the hills of Fadden, our school offers stunning views of the Brindabella ranges from our spacious oval. Accessible through walkways and public footpaths, our school is not only open to families but also to the local kangaroo population after school hours. With no fences, we embrace the unique harmony between nature and education.
At Fadden Primary School, we place a strong emphasis on Positive Behaviours for Learning. Our 283 students, ranging from Preschool to Year 6, are explicitly taught the importance of respect for oneself, others, the school, and the environment. We also encourage responsibility for one's choices, actions, and words.
Our dedicated and highly skilled staff create an inclusive environment that engages students and fosters a love for learning. Our modern and attractive facilities include landscaped courtyards, a pond, a kitchen classroom, and a spiral forest in our preschool area. These spaces provide a stimulating learning environment that nurtures creativity and curiosity.
Aligned with our motto, 'growing leaders for tomorrow', our teachers deliver rigorous and relevant programs that develop critical thinking skills, social/emotional capabilities, and confidence in our students. We aim to empower them to become global citizens who can navigate an unknown future. In addition to core subjects, our specialist teachers offer programs in Japanese language and culture, physical education, and information technology through the library. We are also proud to have two senior brass bands and a Student Leadership Council that provides genuine leadership opportunities.
As the school leader, I strongly believe in the saying, 'it takes a village to raise a child.' I work closely with the Fadden Primary School Board and Parents and Citizens groups, who play a vital role in connecting our school with the wider community. Their dedication and support contribute to the continued success of our school.
We invite you to join our vibrant and nurturing educational community. Whether you are a prospective student, parent, or community member, we look forward to welcoming you to Fadden Primary School. For more information, please contact us at (02) 6142 2462 or email us at info@faddenps.act.edu.au.

"Absolutely terrible school a kid was locked in a cage and while I was there on my last year there was a teacher who could not spell or read properly, one of the students had to teach her long division. We had a male teacher who would walk into the girls camp cabins without warning or purpose and a kid looked under a bathroom stall while a student was showering at camp and the teachers did not take action because the kids who did it cried afterwards. A teacher also shoved a kids head into sand because the kid upset him. There was three teachers that would just straight up bully students and there was a student that got so severely bullied that they developed anxiety tics and many students had very strong suicidal thoughts and many acted on them."
"All my memories were made here and the community was very positive it has changed over the past 2 year I recommend sending your child here."
"Someone tried to stab another kid when i was in my last year there in 2019, do not recommend."
"It is a great school lots of nature and great teachers."
"I do not recommend sending your child here. There quality of the teachers is horrible to the point where they beat the students. They had a cage where they put there special needs children in and it was funded by the school."
