Public Schools Club

Welcome to the Public Schools Club, an esteemed private members' club located on East Terrace in Adelaide, Australia. Established in 1959, this club was founded by the old scholars associations of several Adelaide schools that were members of the Headmasters' Conference. The founding members recognized the need for graduates to socialize and connect outside of their professional and social circles, thus creating a space for them to do so.

The primary aim of the Public Schools Club is to foster a greater spirit of collegiality among educated young men throughout their university studies and professional lives. Inspired by the objectives of the founding schools, the club also seeks to provide a congenial environment for members to meet and entertain guests, as well as promote the interests of the founding schools through scholarships, prizes, and awards.

Throughout the years, the Public Schools Club has embraced innovation while staying true to its traditions. In 1974, when Kings College merged with Girton Girls School to form Pembroke, the club opened its doors to both male and female members. Today, the club welcomes graduates from any school, ensuring a diverse and inclusive community.

Additionally, the Public Schools Club maintains its commitment to education and scholarly pursuits through the Public Schools Club Scholarship Trust. This trust provides scholarships, bursaries, and prizes to students based on their academic merit, further supporting the pursuit of knowledge.
