AIS Aquatic Centre
About the Business
Welcome to the AIS Aquatic Centre, located at 26 Leverrier Street, Bruce, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our center offers a unique experience to the general public in the state-of-the-art facilities that were originally constructed for the development of high-performance athletes.
At the AIS Aquatic Centre, we strive to provide a range of services and support to various individuals and groups. Whether you are a former AIS athlete or staff member, we have the AIS Be Heard support service available to assist you. Additionally, our ASC Restorative Program is dedicated to supporting former AIS scholarship athletes who have experienced harm from inappropriate practices or abuse.
For young aspiring athletes aged 12-18, we offer the Local Sporting Champions Grant, which provides funding towards the costs associated with participating in eligible competitions. We believe in creating positive and inclusive experiences for everyone who wants to participate in sports through our Inclusive Sport initiatives.
Furthermore, we provide grants and funding opportunities for both individuals and sporting organizations through Sport Australia. We understand the importance of physical literacy and offer resources to help individuals understand the physical, psychological, cognitive, and social capabilities that contribute to active and healthy lifestyles.
For schools and teachers, we offer AIS School Group visits, where students can enjoy a fun and active visit to the AIS, Australia's elite sporting precinct. We also support Sporting Schools to increase children's participation in sports and connect them with community sporting opportunities.
Sports organizations can benefit from our Participation Design Toolkit, which supports them in delivering insight-driven and participant-centered plans, products, and experiences. We also provide guidance on Sport Governance Principles to ensure positive and inclusive experiences for all participants.
Coaches and officials can enhance their skills through our Community Coaching – Essential Skills Course and Online Officiating Course, both designed to create fun, safe, and inclusive environments for participants. Our Clearinghouse for Sport offers high-quality information, research, and analysis about sport, human performance, and physical activity.
We also cater to the scientific and medical community, providing evidence-based information on Concussion in Sport and AIS position statements and best practice guidelines on the frontiers of sports science and sports medicine.
Finally, we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands where our offices are located, including the Ngunnawal people, Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, Yugambeh Nation, and Gadigal people. We extend this acknowledgment to all Traditional Custodians and First Nations peoples throughout Australia, recognizing their outstanding contributions to society and sport. We celebrate the power of sport to promote reconciliation and reduce inequality.
Come and experience the AIS Aquatic Centre, where excellence and inclusivity meet.

"Sometimes it can get pretty busy in the arvo. Check their site before going so that you can look for how many lanes are available from the 2 pools they have. 50m which is deeper and 25m which is pretty shallow. +Points for heated water in the pools so winter ain't an issue"
"Great pool, not too busy. Has both a 25 and 50m. Make sure you check the website to see how many lanes are open. Have to wear a swimming cap, but you can purchase them there, as well as other basics like kickboards ."
"My kids have been coming here for a year and half now for swimming lessons. They really enjoy the lesson and instructors. If I could change a few things it would be to have less kids in the class as currently they have 6 kids. With 30mins for the class it’s not enough time for all kids to really engage. The change rooms are tricky also because I have a girl and boy and my boy needs me to help him change as he is 8 I can’t go in the family room and he can’t change in the men’s room alone. Lastly my son does his class in the middle lane and for him to get out it’s hard as he is a big boy and I can’t pull him out because of my back injury. Other then those three points I’m really happy with lessons."
"Excellent teachers. My children are excited to go to swimming and I can see that they are progressing well. I like that each group seems to have a good amount of pool space dedicated to them, not cramped up like I have seen elsewhere."
"Great pools and an excellent place for kids' swimming lessons. I haven't been as a casual or professional swimmer, but I'm sure it's just as good for that, too."
