University of Canberra
About the Business
Welcome to the University of Canberra, located at 11 Kirinari Street in Bruce, Australia. Our institution is not just a university, but also an establishment and point of interest that aims to provide exceptional education and opportunities for growth.
At the University of Canberra, we understand that not everyone takes the traditional path to higher education. That's why we encourage those who have taken a work or travel break before starting at university to join our diverse community. We believe that these experiences can greatly enrich your learning journey.
If you're looking to elevate your skills and make a significant impact in the Creative or Cultural sectors, we are proud to offer a new range of postgraduate qualifications in the Creative Industries. These programs are designed to equip you with the knowledge and expertise needed to thrive in these dynamic fields.
Our students are passionate about making a difference in the world. For example, Taehee Kim, a Bachelor of Politics and International Relations student, is determined to raise awareness about North Korean human rights on the world stage. Through her internship experience, she has solidified her career goals and is ready to make a meaningful impact.
Nicole McMahon is another inspiring student who has set her sights on a career in politics. She has taken the opportunity to be part of the University of Canberra's inaugural Pathways to Politics Program for Women, showcasing her ambition and determination to make a difference.
We pride ourselves on providing a platform for students to share their experiences and insights. Annalise Hardiman, a University of Canberra student and BroadAgenda intern, has written about the realities of the misogyny many women umpires face. Through platforms like these, we aim to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
Our commitment to excellence is evident through the recognition and achievements of our students. Senada Meskin, a PhD candidate from the Faculty of Arts and Design, was the overall winner of a prestigious competition, progressing to the 3MT Asia-Pacific Semi-Final. Additionally, Sara Chica Latorre, a candidate from the Faculty of Health, won both the runner-up and People's Choice Award. These accomplishments highlight the caliber of our students and the quality of education they receive.
We are honored to be a proud sponsor of the 21st General Assembly and Scientific Symposium (GA2023) of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). This historic event marks the first time that this renowned heritage and culture event will be hosted in the Pacific region. It is a testament to our commitment to promoting and preserving cultural heritage.
In collaboration with NetApp and the ACT Government, we have established a new regional hub for open source innovation, education, and research. This partnership aims to foster creativity, collaboration, and technological advancements that will benefit our community and beyond.
Finally, we would like to acknowledge the Ngunnawal people, the traditional custodians of the lands where our Bruce campus is situated. We deeply respect and appreciate their continuing culture and the significant contributions they make to the life of Canberra and the region. We also acknowledge and pay respect to all other First Nations Peoples on whose lands we gather.
At the University of Canberra, we strive to provide an inclusive and stimulating environment where students can thrive academically, professionally, and personally. Join us on this transformative journey and unlock your full potential.

"Total university experience. Love the look and feel of the University of Canberra, with high end classes and facilities offered to students, spectacular grounds and proffesional setting, its a quality education hub. Plenty of parking if you are willing to pay ofcourse. Access to a range of services and courses."
"Was interested in the Juris Doctor course. I filled out the online form to have someone contact me. That was 2 days ago and I’ve heard nothing. I tried calling them and couldn’t get through. I chose the option to have a callback when an advisor was free but no one called me back. I guess I’ll go to another university."
"Recently prepared for azure certifications and found lots of issues with the course structure. Compared with other universities such as UWA and UNSW, the data science degree fails to include some key courses. Instead, it includes some useless compulsory units such as AR/VR. To be honest, the uni more looks like a super TAFE rather than a University. If you do want to become a professional rather than getting jobs in Costco or KFC, you need to go to universities that teach you something useful or choose boot camp instead."
"Completely useless institution for a supposedly being the national university. Their lecturers and tutors don't speak English. Scream at their students in lectures, make them feel stupid, and oh all the material is online tutorials written and answered already. The children are then told to read books. Thanks for putting thousands of potential Canberrans in debt over nothing. Chumps."
"The university (popular as “UC”) has a great atmosphere and it caters to both the domestic and international students. With a disarming set of faculties and facilities, it is one of the best in Australia. I am undergoing my two year masters here and I am having a good time."
