Sage Education and Childcare Belconnen

"Sage is a beautiful centre that has recently been awarded a well deserved "exceeding" from the ACECQA rating system. I have a 3 year old who is there now who has been there since the opened, and her sister will start next year. There's a chef who cares about nutrition. She creates gourmet menus with plenty of variety. Things are made from scratch like a lemongrass salmon curry, home made foccacia, japanese chicken meat balls etc... She cooks optional take home family meals. Always open to suggestions. For mothers day she baked fresh bagels with toppings like blueberries and cream, and fresh baked salmon with cream cheese. There is plenty of music exposure with music lessons. Even from the youngest rooms. I recently heard an educator performing with a guitar singing a bunch of nursery rhymes while the kids patted drums. There is a music teacher who plays different instruments while singing. There is a Artelier (art studio) as part of their philosophy which is Reggio Emelia. They do plenty of art each day. The philosophy is child led, play based learning. The educators are there to help them follow and pursue their interests. There are sport coaches that change up different sports each week. They do things like cricket and tennis with age appropriate equipment. There are veggie patches where kids can venture through to pick berries and taste herbs. There's a rock climbing wall, sand pits, play equipment. The educators rotate things like crates for building a fortress or a giant wheel that you can roll down a hill. Plenty of space to ride bikes and scooters around. Our educators include activities such as sign language, nature play, teaching hygiene, life skills like pouring milk from a carton. They were so encouraging with toilet training it gave me the confidence to try. The communication is great. And the owners are so responsive and engaged. If you have any feedback they listen. The centre has a beautiful heart. My 3 year old daughter ran a 2km kids marathon for premature babies. Sage did a fundraising event just for her. The owners even donated and helped us achieve over $1000 towards our charity. It completely blew me away. So I'm such a big supporter of this centre. :)"

"We first put our son in sage when he had just turned 4 months old. We recently moved out of Canberra, so he had been at sage until he was 1. The comfort that our son and ourselves felt at sage can not be replicated. The centre facilities and daily activities they do are extremely satisfying to see the variety and energy they put into each one for the kids. Plus the meals they give the children are top notch! They also do take home meals which were so helpful for us. Thank you Sage, we will miss you!"

"I sent my boy there from ages 2-3, the staff were amazing with drop off as he always found it difficult. Has the best outdoor play area that can be used all year which was a big factor for sending our boy there so wasn’t stuck inside all day. They use an interactive app so you get live updates all day from food, activities or accidents. Would highly recommend and plan to send our younger boy back in future."
