"We have been so impressed with the team at Kirinari. We have two children at Kirinari and have progressed through all three rooms over the years. What attracted us to Kirinari? The play-based philosophy, the smaller centre, the personalised approach, the large free play space with nature play set up. What has kept us there? They live their philosophy of play based learning, it is more than a philosophy, it is lived every day. The continued personal approach to the kids, and parents; every staff member knows both our kids and us by name! While the centre is ‘small’ the access to additional education sessions, music programs, indigenous education programs, excursions to the university have impressed us and our kids, and are fantastic. Both our kids have made beautiful friendships, feel safe and receive personalised education that is truly strengths based."
"We have received exceptional care, education and support at Kirinari. The staff are loving, supportive and proactive in working with families towards shared goals for the children. The outdoor play areas are large and stimulating and are well incorporated into daily activities. We have learned so much from the Indigenous culture, music program and dance program that the centre bring in weekly along with the cultural programs, gardening and environmental programs that the centre develops in house. These learnings are often discussed and displayed at home by the kids. Transitioning from age-based room to the next room is planned with a series of trials to make the transition as smooth as possible for both the child and parents. Proximity to the University of Canberra and easy parking access are a bonus."
"Delightful centre, the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to look after your children. Very communicative and attentive. The playground equipment is beautiful and blends in with the environment. A hidden gem"
"Kirinari provide such a welcoming space for the children and their families. It is a smaller centre, which was our preference, as it allows for extra personalised care and is definitely a space my daughter feels comfortable in as she is able to build relationships with all of the staff. The cultural diversity (of both educators and families), and the huge natural outdoor spaces available to the children were also a big drawcard for us. The educational resources and communication available to families has improved immensely over recent years also, improving their service even further."
"The value Kirinari places on the Reconciliation Action Plan and sustainable practices, as well as the importance of outdoor play really aligns with what is important to me. The diversity of the exceptional staff is fantastic, and I really feel as though they care for and about my children."
