Reviews of The Alby
"Highly recommend (The Basement) for your next function - the customer service for functions bookings in particular was outstanding, they were a pleasure to deal with. Went out of their way to make it easy and no request was too much trouble. Pizza was great although the space we were allocated for 40 people was a bit snug, but didn't affect the overall experience. Parking is a bit tricky, not super close by, but if you know that in advance or are planning to taxi/uber it's fine."
"We are group of 5 and we are sharing and the food is so good! But the service is terrible there is no serving spoon for the food for real? And no napkin service water etc. The service is 4 out of 10"
"The food here is always great. A warm winter atmosphere with fire and warm finishes. Drinks are fantastic and usually pretty quick. A bit more focus on table turnover (wiping down and clearing quickly etc) would help on busier days. But all in all, a five star venue."
"Stumbled on this spot and wow, what a cool place! Urban vibe, sleek design and delish food. I had the roasted veg salad and it was one of the best dishes I have had so far on this trip. Pumpkin, tomatoes with lots of fall veg. A layer of Hummus in the bottom raised the wow factor for sure. Fish and chips were great too. Book the big table by the pizza oven near the kitchen and bring friends."
"Super cute bar with delicious cocktails. Perfect for a group of friends who want to stay at the table and only mingle amongst themselves. I would not recommend coming here by yourself or if you're looking to mingle with other patrons. The door staff were visibly confused when I stated that I was on my own. The staff asked me several questions confirming that I was on my own for the entirety of my visit. I was then seated at a table and told to order via the QR code. I asked if people could order at the bar (me hoping to meet/talk to people), and the staff gave me a weird look and said "uh I guess, but it's better to use the QR code." I used the QR code and got my cocktail delivered to the table before spending the next hour sitting at the table with no human contact."
