Woden Youth Centre
About the Business
Welcome to Woden Youth Centre, located at 29 Callam Street in Phillip, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we offer a variety of programs and services for children, youth, and the community.
Our school holiday programs are packed with exciting excursions, workshops, activities, and games, ensuring that children have a fun and enriching experience during their breaks. Additionally, our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) services provide a safe and secure environment for children, emphasizing social interaction and recreation-based activities.
For parents seeking early learning options, our Early Learning Centres offer a stimulating and secure environment for your child's development.
At Woden Community Service, we believe in engaging with the community. That's why we facilitate paint and play sessions out in the community and offer a user engagement reference group for current and recent service users to provide their input and feedback.
To make the enrollment and booking process seamless, we utilize My Family Lounge, an online booking management system, across all our education and care services. We also have answers to frequently asked questions about enrolments, bookings, the Child Care Subsidy, and payments.
In partnership with Woden Community Service and Anglicare ACT, we run the Youth Engagement and Outreach Service (YET) for South Canberra, Woden, and Weston Creek regions. This service aims to support and engage with young people in these areas.
We also offer various programs for youth, including Raw Potential, a youth outreach program for those aged 12-25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. New Path provides early intervention support for individuals facing severe mental health issues, while Continuity of Support (CoS) assists those who were accessing specific mental health services discontinued in 2019 and are not eligible for NDIS.
Transition to Recovery (TRec) is an intensive outreach program to help individuals transition to the community following an acute episode of mental illness and prevent relapse. The Way Back Support Service supports individuals following a suicide attempt, providing them with the necessary support to stay safe.
For individuals requiring short-term mental health support, SC SUSD offers two weeks of residential and four weeks of community outreach support. Under NDIS packages, WCS provides coordination, one-on-one support, and group activities for individuals with severe and persistent psychosocial disabilities.
We also offer support services for individuals experiencing hoarding behaviors and insanitary property conditions through our Hoarding and Advocacy Support Service.
Our home support services are designed to assist individuals in maintaining their independence and meeting their changing needs while remaining in their community. Our reliable transport team provides door-to-door service for medical appointments, shopping, and social events.
At Woden Community Service, we understand the importance of social connection. That's why we have a wide range of social groups to choose from, including lunch groups, walking groups, and outings to local and interstate venues.
We offer specialist and intensive assistance for senior Australians who need support in finding sustainable housing. Additionally, our team works with individuals at risk of losing their tenancy or facing barriers in establishing a private tenancy.
For a wide range of support services, including those for families, young people, and individuals who are homeless, OneLink can connect you to the right resources.
We also operate The Little Pantry, an emergency food relief service where individuals can visit and choose a small number of non-perishable foods and personal items.
Through our Community Assistance and Support Program (CASP), we aim to enhance health and wellbeing, facilitate independence, and promote community participation.
Woden Community Service is committed to fostering community connection, participation, and inclusion through our Community Development Program.
Our newest social initiative, Social Enterprise, aims to provide on-the-job training and competencies in a supported environment for young individuals facing barriers to employment.
We are excited to launch this service and continue our mission to support the Canberra community. Stay updated on our latest news and events by subscribing to our newsletter.
Lastly, Woden Community Service recognizes and pays respect to the Ngunnawal people, the traditional custodians of the ACT and surrounding region. We acknowledge the traditional connection of other people and families to the lands and pay our respects to their cultures, ancestors, and Elders past, present, and future.
Visit us at 26 Corinna Street, Woden ACT 2606, or any of our WCS locations. We look forward to serving you and the community.
