Welcome to Sanskriti - A School of Indian Performing Arts, located in Holden Hill, Southern Terrace, 34 C, Sydney, Australia. Founded by creative director Sakshi Kumar, this establishment is dedicated to promoting and teaching the rich traditions of Indian performing arts.

Sakshi Kumar is a highly accomplished Kathak dancer, trained under the tutelage of Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj, son of the legendary Pt. Birju Maharaj, at the prestigious Kathak Kendra in New Delhi. With a Mathematics degree from Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi, Sakshi is not only a talented artist but also a dedicated educator.

Not only is Sakshi a Kathak dancer, but she has also completed her Arengettam in Kathakali under the guidance of Guru Sh. Jagadeesan Nair Thiruvattar at The International Centre for Kathakali, New Delhi. Her passion for Indian performing arts extends beyond Kathak, as she has worked extensively as a Cultural Ambassador of India in Kyrgyzstan through ICCR, performing and teaching in various dance schools.

Sakshi's husband, Suresh Kumar, is also a renowned artist in the field of Mayurbhanj Chhau and Kathakali. Together, they have collaborated on the production 'JUGALBANDI,' which beautifully combines the classical dances of Kathak and Chhau. Their performances have captivated audiences both in India and abroad.

At Sanskriti, students of all ages and skill levels can learn and experience the beauty of Indian performing arts. Sakshi's teaching style is professional, patient, and committed, ensuring that each student receives the attention they need to grow and excel in their chosen art form.
