About Maurice Clayton Reserve
Welcome to Maurice Clayton Reserve, one of Adelaide's most desirable places to live, work, and visit. Located at 44A Augusta Street in Maylands, this establishment is not just a park, but also a point of interest for the community.
At Maurice Clayton Reserve, our main focus is caring for our communities and fostering participation in community and civic life. We strive to pursue initiatives that improve our environment and protect our resources, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally responsible approach to development.
As part of our commitment to the community, we offer a range of services to meet the needs of our residents. From tours and walks to native plant giveaways, there are plenty of opportunities to engage with the natural beauty of the reserve. Don't miss out on our upcoming event from 7-8 October, book now to secure your spot!
We also value the input of our community, which is why we have created a draft Arts & Culture Plan for the years 2023-2027. Your opinion matters, so make sure to have your say and help shape the future of Maurice Clayton Reserve.
In line with our commitment to sustainability, we have installed six publicly accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters. Check out our website for the locations and charge your EV hassle-free.
Exciting developments are also underway at the Payneham Memorial Swimming Centre, which will soon be transformed into a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project.
Our commitment to the arts is evident in the creation of five ongoing exhibition spaces for emerging and established artists. We believe in supporting local talent and providing a platform for artistic expression.
We also take environmental responsibility seriously. Remember, never place batteries in kerbside bins as they have the potential to cause harm. Dispose of batteries properly to protect our environment.
Looking ahead, we have plans to enhance various facilities in the area. Cruickshank Reserve will soon boast new clubrooms, a canteen, and two change rooms, scheduled for completion in December 2023. The Dunstan Adventure Playground will also receive upgrades, including a shade structure, lighting, public toilets, and improved integration with the River Torrens Linear Park.
The Burchell Reserve Upgrade is another project that will benefit local families and the wider community. With new tennis courts, playground equipment, toilets, and picnic facilities, it will provide a space for all to enjoy.
To ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience for recreational users, we are enhancing the River Torrens Linear Park Path. This upgrade will make it even more appealing for walkers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts.
Lastly, the Trinity Valley Drainage Upgrade aims to reduce the risk of flooding in the suburbs of St Morris, Trinity Gardens, Maylands, and Stepney. We are committed to the safety and well-being of our community.
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is represented by a Mayor and 13 Elected Members, who work tirelessly to advocate for the needs and interests of our diverse community.
Visit Maurice Clayton Reserve today and experience the beauty, community spirit, and commitment to sustainability that makes this institution truly special.

Reviews of Maurice Clayton Reserve
"For over 20 years I have walked my dogs here , there use to be drugs sold here as the dealers had 2 entrances , Augusta st & Frederick st. The last drug bust here ,was caught on video and the dealer was arested and charged & lived in Adelaide st. This Reserve is MEANT TO BE A SMOKE FREE RESERVE , As per the councils website , All parks & reserves OWNED by the council are 100 % SMOKE FREE , Yet nearly every day there are a number of women that smoke in the park , when its pointed out that its a smoke free reserve . The council , after posting HEAPS of no smoking signs up and down the Parade , just refuse to update their 10 yr old signs , the signs here say , no smoking within 10 meters of the playground , the MORON at the council , Peter Collins for over 3 uears has ignored requests to update signs.."
