Ministry of Beer

About Ministry of Beer
Welcome to the Ministry of Beer, located at Lyndoch Valley Road in Lyndoch, Australia. Owned and operated by locals Brett & Dayna Reimann, this establishment has been serving up exceptional brews since 2016.
Brett, a passionate homebrewer, decided to turn his hobby into a business when his 200 litre brewhouse and 400 litre fermenters became too much for him to handle alone. The brewery is situated on a hobby farm in Rosedale, Barossa Valley, where all the beers are lovingly crafted. In fact, they even grow some of the hops used in their beers, with 150 Cascade Hop Bines on the property.
One of the highlights of Ministry of Beer is their range of sour beers, which has been developed over the years. Brett has also established a small barrel program, adding depth and complexity to their offerings. With a modest canning line on site, they are able to keep their beer fresh and spend time experimenting with different ingredients, including malt, yeast, hops, oak barrels, fruit, herbs, and various yeast and bacteria.
When you visit Ministry of Beer, you'll find a warm and welcoming environment at their Brewery Cellar Door. Whether you choose to relax in their shaded beer garden or spacious bar area, you'll be able to enjoy their generous range of beers, including 16 beers on tap and takeaway options.
From traditional lagers to wild barrel-aged sours, Ministry of Beer has something for every beer enthusiast. Their Australian brewed European Lager, made with German malt, hops, and yeast, offers a crisp, dry, and refreshing taste. If you prefer something lighter, their pale straw-colored beer with low bitterness is perfect for easy drinking. For hop lovers, their hazy IPA with tropical fruit flavors and low bitterness is a must-try.
Don't miss out on their kettle soured beers, such as the one infused with real Australian raspberries for a big hit of raspberry flavor and aroma. They also offer a Blonde ale brewed with malt from Barossa Valley Craft Malt and Cascade Hops from their own hop garden, showcasing their commitment to local ingredients.
If you're a fan of sour beers, Ministry of Beer has you covered. Their kettle-soured, easy-drinking sour beer with clean acidity is perfect for summer, while their barrel-aged sour beers, aged in Australian Whiskey Barrels, offer a rich and complex experience. They also have a range of barrel-aged mixed culture sours, including a unique blend of blonde and golden sours dry hopped with Galaxy Hops.
For those seeking a unique taste, Ministry of Beer presents a Solera project, started in 2016, where the first barrel ever filled is partially emptied and refilled with fresh beer each year. This ongoing process creates a continuously evolving and fascinating beer.
As a small family-owned business, Ministry of Beer appreciates your support. They strive to provide a memorable experience for all visitors, offering a diverse range of beers in a welcoming atmosphere. So come and join them in the heart of Lyndoch, Barossa Valley, and indulge in the extraordinary world of Ministry of Beer.

"Had a trip to the Ministry of Beer today for the first time. What a great place!! The beers and the variety available were awesome and Phil behind the bar made the whole experience fantastic. His product knowledge and advice on each beer was second to none. Will be back again for sure."
"Friendly knowledgeable staff and a plethora of beers to choose from. Love the choose your own beer paddle if you want to try a few. Needed a light food choice and we ordered the meatlovers pizza. This was divine! It was a very thin base but we loved it. May go back for some merchandise and to try a few more beers."
"This place is an absolute gem. Everything I sampled was fantastic. Great beer, great location and genuinely enthusiastic people. My only regret is staying in Strathalbyn for the night previously instead of riding up and staying nearby. Worth the 120km round trip."
