Our esteemed Chef Song has over 30 years of experience in perfecting Asian cuisine. His expertise and passion for traditional dishes have taken him on a culinary journey throughout China, including Hong Kong, where he worked alongside the renowned Chef Pui Wing Hui. Chef Hui, who remains the most decorated and awarded Chef in Hong Kong, mentored Chef Song and helped him refine his skills.

In 1999, Chef Song was invited to join Chef Hui in Las Vegas at The Mansion, an exclusive property adjacent to the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Here, Chef Song learned to create custom dishes that catered to the diverse tastes of high-spend customers from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.

In 2021, as part of the Tower 1 redevelopments, Imperial at The Star was rebranded as Uncle Su, in honor of Chef Song Yao Su, who continues to lead our team with his culinary expertise.
