Reviews
"Great restaurant, great food, service. It's the best place around here. Staff are always very friendly."
"This is gonna be a long-winded review, but TLDR don’t go if you actually want to eat Malay food So let’s begin, just drove to and back toowoomba and craving something spicy and hearty. Kopitalk isn’t open and this restaurant has a review that acclaims the laksa is nice so decided to try it out. Gotta be honest I would’ve went into the Thai place few doors down if it wasn’t full. But anyway, went in asking to dine in and she went ahead and looked at her watch, I thought what was that for? But she decided to wait me to a table. Ordered the laksa from another waitress. Came out quick less than 10 minutes. And oh my days, it was bad. Mung bean sprout was withered like you would have it after 2-3 weeks in your fridge. Meat was marinated for god knows how long, soup was sweet like cup of coffee with 5 sugars, 70 percent soup. Absolute let down Then saw that they are hiring casual waiting person, I thought interesting they’ve already have 4-5 waiters going around wiping tables and stuff. Got the reason why right after I came out from toilet, I would assume it’s the boss or manager speaking rudely (in Australian standard) to the waitress, high wait person turnover is my guess As for other stuff, atmosphere was not kampung at all, it would be more of a middle-high class restaurant if this is in Malaysia. Light Malay rock playing in the background is meh. Dragon Chinese character hanging in the male toilet suggest owner could be Chinese but I’m generalising. Now, I am born and bred Malaysian, take this review as you like but personally will not recommend, 1 star for quick meal from the kitchen"
"Saturday night 8.33 pm after ordering entrees and mains for 5 people we wanted to order 5 desserts. We were told kitchen closed at 8.30 but opening hours are til 9pm. We weren’t asked if we wanted dessert or anything else before the kitchen was closing. Our request was 3 minutes late. Have been coming here for years. No more. Very disappointing. So bad for business."
"The good thing about this restaurant is that is it consistent. The food is good without being extraordinary but the prices make it very worthwhile. The lunch specials are great value for money. There is usually a good crowd of older diners. They are good ones to follow. They know good value when they find it. Also the big bonus is that’s its BYO. Yes that’s right bring the wine you actually enjoy and pair that with the meal. Makes this place a standout. Would have given it 5stars but the place needs a bit of a makeover."
"Had an 18th here for lunch and the workers were so lovely. Food was spot on, fast, filling and tasted great. Will definitely be back"
