Hinterland Regional Park
About the Business
Welcome to Hinterland Regional Park, a true oasis nestled in the heart of Mudgeeraba, Australia. Surrounded by breathtaking bushland, this park is a haven for nature lovers seeking tranquility and a connection with the great outdoors.
As you enter the park, you'll be greeted by a shaded playground that offers endless fun for children. Swing, rock, and climb on the various equipment, or take a thrilling ride on the flying fox. The park road, which allows one-way entry and exit, loops around the parklands and provides ample on-site parking.
The center of the parkland boasts a slightly hilly terrain with a vast, flat grassy area on top. Here, you'll find several sheltered picnic tables equipped with barbecues, perfect for enjoying a delicious meal amidst nature's beauty. Conveniently located to the right of the entrance, easily accessible public toilets ensure comfort for all visitors.
Whether you're a seasoned hiker or prefer a leisurely stroll, Hinterland Regional Park offers a range of tracks suitable for various fitness levels. Some tracks are beautifully grassed, adding to the picturesque scenery. For those with disabilities, the park provides a pathway to the disability toilet and a picnic barbecue area from the park road. However, please note that the playground and certain picnic areas may not be as accessible due to their location on a small hill without a pathway leading towards them.
Attention dog owners! Hinterland Regional Park has designated areas where your furry friends can be exercised off leash, as long as they are under effective control. Additionally, a fenced section offers dog agility equipment for added enjoyment. Dogs must be leashed in all other areas of the park and are not allowed in the playgrounds. Please be aware that extensive areas of the park are designated conservation areas where dogs are prohibited, and appropriate signage is in place to ensure compliance.
Covering an impressive 62 hectares, Hinterland Regional Park holds historical significance as the first settled land in Mudgeeraba by Europeans in 1869. Over the past 140 years, the original vegetation has undergone significant modifications. However, the park's active bushcare group, in partnership with the City's NaturallyGC Landcare program, works tirelessly to improve the bushland and plant trees. Join them on the first Saturday of the month from February to November between 8am and 10am to contribute to the preservation of this precious ecosystem. For more information, visit our Hinterland Regional Park Bushcare Group page or explore the Nature Play QLD ideas for kids website.
Rest assured that any necessary temporary closures will be accompanied by clear signage, ensuring minimal impact on park access. To find us, head to the intersection of Hardys Road and Bertana Drive in Mudgeeraba. For precise directions, you can view the map on Google.
Discover the beauty of Hinterland Regional Park, where nature's wonders await your exploration. Immerse yourself in the serenity of the bushland, enjoy a picnic with loved ones, and create cherished memories in this remarkable tourist attraction.
