Reviews of Love Me Love Me Not Preloved Market
"I have visited this store twice. Once to ask a question about rack rental. Spoke with Edwin, one of the casuals who was very helpful, polite and smiling. On the second occassion on Saturday 28 January 2023, I visited with Yen, the owner who was holding a workshop. The beautiful Gayla was holding the fort in front of house. Despite advertising on a few websites related to Facebook + Instagram, it was a shame that no one else turned up. How ever it was a blessing for myself. I spent about 1.5 hours with Yen who went through with me how it all worked, cost of hiring rack, tossing around ideas, created an account and was guided through the site. While I was there, there were A Lot of young people who came in to browse. Most leaving with armfuls of clothing. One young lady was pleasantly surprised when she thought her 7 items were going to cost her $70 but only cost her less than $59. This included a 1.5% credit card fee. No extra fees for paying cash. Like any pre-loved clothing store, you almost have to go every few days. It also depends if you are looking for anything in particular. Stock is dependant on what people bring in to sell when they hire a rack. On average people hire a rack for 2 weeks. A small rack will set your back $55/week and a medium rack will set you back $90/week + 5% commission. Yes, you have to create your own labels but they can print them in store. At the moment Rack Rental is Half price with rental end date 18 February 2023. Having said that, if you book for 2 weeks, it is only $52.50 during this time. There are discounts for long term rack rentals. You will need to pay for rack rental at time of booking. There is a handy guide to pricing on the website but of course be realistic about the prices you want to ask. The more expensive the item, the longer it's going to take to sell. You are also able to view your sold items online and you are able to rotate or top up the clothes on your rack at any time during your rental period. You receive proceeds from the sale of your items minus commission at the end of the rental period. However if you have a longer rental period, Yen is happy to come to an agreement of regular payments, eg every 2 weeks. The store has only been open about 2 months. Yes, at the moment it is crowded with racks but there are plans to install a display cabinet for jewellery and to use the second room behind the counter. The second room is where the dressing rooms are. This is Not a department store. There are no fancy displays. This is where you go in search of a bargain and try and get some pocket money when de-cluttering your wardrobe. You Can place shoes for sale at the bottom of your rack and handbags on the hangers. Yen and her team provide all coat hangers and security tags. In the interest of reducing waste, eco sustainablility, re-use etc, either bring your own bag or take advantage of a pre-loved shopping bag provided for free. You also have the option of buying a bag if you so wish but this defeats the purpose of zero waste. Looking through the racks there were some amazing clothes. Some of the more vintage items, i.e items from 60's and 70's were quality. One little black dress reminded me of both Breakfast at Tiffany's and the era of the white go go boots. Wish I could fit into them. But alas for now, there are few larger size items, few choices for men and a number of choices for children. This business is a start up. It is in it's infacy having been open less than 2 months. There are rave reviews on the 5031 Facebook page. (visible only to 5031 residents). One of the reasons I took a look for myself. With the staff friendly and helpful and gems and treasures to be found in unexpected places at any time, is it little wonder they have a few locals who have become regulars. p.s In the interest of full disclosure, I enjoyed the store so much, I asked if I could volunteer. At this stage it will be once a week for a few hours. I was accepted on the spot after one customer asked for a second opinion on a dress and I gave my honest and expert opinion."
"This store is not layered out very well - there are too many racks which makes it difficult to walk around, browse and enjoy looking at the clothes. I also did not like the collection of clothes displayed - maybe best women over 30 years old? Because it’s a new store, I will give it another try in a couple of months though once they have a bigger clientele"
