About Adelaide Hills Veterinary Services
Welcome to Adelaide Hills Veterinary Services, located at 87 Onkaparinga Valley Road in Woodside, Australia. As an establishment dedicated to veterinary care, health, and hospital services, we believe that your furry companion deserves personalized care and attention that can only be provided by your family veterinarian.
At Adelaide Hills Veterinary Services, we take pride in our ability to spend the necessary time to listen to your concerns and develop an individualized treatment plan for your beloved pet. Our small team is committed to following your four-legged friend's progress as if they were one of our own.
One of the key aspects of preventative care that we offer is wellness exams. These exams focus on maintaining your pet's well-being and stopping health problems before they occur. Instead of waiting until a health issue arises, our goal is to keep your pet healthy and thriving.
We also offer microchipping services, which provide a permanent method of electronic identification for your pet. The microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, is implanted just under the skin between the shoulder blades. Each chip has a unique number that can be detected using a microchip scanner, ensuring that your pet can be easily identified if they ever go missing.
Vaccinations are another essential aspect of your pet's healthcare. Administered to healthy animals, vaccines stimulate the immune system to mount an effective response against disease-causing microbes. We offer routine vaccinations starting from when your pet is 6 to 8 weeks old. Our team will discuss the most suitable schedule for boosters with you during your visit.
With our wide range of surgical facilities and equipment, we can perform various procedures, including soft tissue surgery, orthopedic operations, bite wound treatments, and abscess drainage. We prioritize maintaining a sterile environment for surgeries to ensure the safety and well-being of your pet.
While we strive to provide emergency veterinary services until 8 pm on weekdays and 4 pm on Saturdays, please note that we may not be available 24/7 due to our small practice and the lack of country veterinarians. However, we can guide you to alternative emergency veterinary care after our regular hours.
Our dedicated team also has a keen interest in large animal veterinary care. If you are located outside our area, you are welcome to bring your animals to our Woodside clinic or Mt Torrens Equine Facility. Under special circumstances, we may even travel outside our area to assist you, so please contact us to discuss your needs.
In addition to our comprehensive services, we have a special interest in dental care for both canines and equines. Our trained and qualified veterinarians can provide the best treatment for your horses' dental health and offer advice on maintaining their oral well-being over the years.
Furthermore, our clinic is well-equipped for breeding and reproduction services, including frozen and chilled artificial insemination, semen collection, and embryo transfer. We have a particular interest in breeding and reproduction, so when you're ready to grow your family, think of us. Our team is here to answer your questions and ensure the best outcome possible.
Our team consists of highly skilled veterinarians, including Dr. Jason Andrews. With 18 years of experience as a companion animal veterinarian, Dr. Andrews has a special interest in theriogenology (animal reproduction), particularly in dogs and horses. He recently completed specialist training at Charles Sturt University and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Nora Henry joined our team in August 2019 after graduating with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Adelaide. She has a personal interest in theriogenology, small animal dentistry, and dermatology. Dr. Henry's upbringing on a hobby farm in regional Victoria has instilled in her a passion for animals and their well-being.
We invite you to visit Adelaide Hills Veterinary Services and experience the personalized care and attention we provide for your beloved pets. Whether it's for routine wellness exams, emergency care, surgical procedures, or specialized reproductive services, our dedicated team is here to ensure the health and happiness of your furry family members.

Reviews of Adelaide Hills Veterinary Services
"Incorrect advice for dogs and gut health and never has appointments available when urgent, by God I hope that you have a go at me because I will take this further. I am angry. Pull your head in jason it's was one of your vets that informed us to change our diet to a prescribed royal canine diet which has now cause my dog to have a severe allergic reaction which has built up in his gut over the last few months , I will be going back to a natural diet and taking my dog elsewhere. Cancel my appointment for Friday as I may be taking this further and I have evidence for all of this, go one have a go ate now your vet screwed up, I would take the hit and move on if I was you."
"This vet practice has looked after my cat and dogs. I am very happy with their service and amazing care of my pets. They are always happy to help and really care about my pets. My cat was a rescue cat he came with some problems and Jason came up with solutions that changed his life. And I am very grateful. Charlie is so much happier now. Very happy to recommend this vet practice"
"They have provided great care for our dogs over the years. We always seem to be able to make an appointment on relatively short notice. As they are super close to our house it’s super convenient too The staff is friendly and take good care They also offer a nail clipping service which is great and affordable We have a pointer with black nails who hates getting them clipped and they always manage him well"
"I found the owner more intrested in money then the quality of care for my pet dog. Wouldn't go back to see him again. REPLY... I was trying to be polite with this review. I am being honest. I was in your room for 3 mins(mabe 4mins) not 30 mins. I knew what was wrong with my dog before I made the appt. I rang that morning, sent photo's etc of her eye to tell you what I needed. (As advised by ph staff) To get a call 5 hour's later to have to come in. Yous made me book an appt to make sure that's what it was because she hadn't been to u before with that condition. So I had to book to get a $21 eye tube treatment..which was the exact cream I have had before. I understood all that so when I came in and was in your room for no longer then 3..4mins ( not sure where you got 30 mins from) And a training nurse did her quick check up (all she did was check her heart beat.) All you did was look at her eye and put a drop of dye in and walked out. ( previously the other vet checked my dog right over clipped her nails etc) I've been happy with my previous visits of last vet. For me to walk out and pay $78 for that was ridiculous. Now I paid that and explained my concern about the consult price as I've never ever paid $78 for a consult in a vet ANYWHERE. The most I've paid is $60 and they did a proper consultation this wasn't in my experience. The front desk had attitude and referred me onto you as I voice my concern about the consult price etc to you, you just got defensive and didn't even try to understand what I was saying or where I was comming from. I wasn't rude at all to me saying in the end I won't be back and you then being rather arrogant saying "well take the prescription off her records" and walking away. I found the experience quite rude I've never dealt with a vet like that. I found the other lady vet there lovely. This is my experience and I have a right to write a review. As a small buisness owner myself I would never treat client's like that. But that's the difference when you care about client's, buisness ect. People pay big money to see vets. They should be looked after and respected I didn't feel like I got that."
