"Dealing with Grace is a lucky dip. We have moved many times with them and this last experience was one of the more stressful, largely due to Grace’s management. The good news was that our crafted piece of furniture had been crated securely, which was fortunate. The bad news was one of the delivery team was not strong enough to lift or hold their end of the 129kg item, despite the weight being clearly displayed on the unit by our shipper. It was fortunate that the stronger of the two managed to break the unit’s fall as they struggled to lift it from the truck tray. I had to intervene to prevent them from attempting to somehow roll/manhandle the unpackaged piece of furniture over a simple 10cm threshold into our house. After some persuasion I managed to stop any further attempts by the valiant team to try to finish the job themselves. At my request they managed to get another team to assist and the unit was finally put in place. This debacle took over 2 hours and was a total waste of my time and nervous energy (and that of the poor delivery people tasked with our job) all due to mismanagement at the Grace office level. Our delivery should have been given to 2 men who could lift 129kg. We’ve had one delivery team in the past (led by Sean) who were brilliant. Poor experience by other teams include dirty hands on furniture, damaged items, or pushed dents in fridges because they weren’t trained how to manoeuvre a fridge properly. I only gave them 2 stars because one the rescue team (who had helped us before) was able to lend his strength to help complete the job. As I said before, it’s a lucky dip - Grace’s management should give more attention to their staffing, training and dispatch so that Grace lives up to the promises in their advertising. If they can’t get the staff then perhaps they should not book the sales."
"‘Dis-GRACE-ful’ DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY… and if you must – take their exorbitant insurance or you’re high and dry! Used Grace for interstate relocation and like most people have said – once they have your money you are left with no contact and little to no customer service. It is not true that ‘you get what you pay for’. We paid nearly 11k for the move and didn’t take the extra insurance at 2.5k – you pay enough already and they were supposed to be careful with our things. Grace uplifted our belongings on 7th June and finally got the rest of our shipment yesterday, 26th July…. After them not shipping it all together, making appointments to deliver and not showing up, saying they lost it and then finally receiving our stuff and the pool table is broken. During all of this – no contact was made, we had to call company to chase up where delivery was, why they didnt show up, told us they would call back but no call received… on multiple occasions. Communication from this company is non existent which adds so much stress to an already stressful situation. How extremely frustrating to have to be the person constantly chasing up contact from a professional company! I wonder if this situation would have been different had the option of payment on delivery be available! It would seem that once Grace has your money, you are then not afforded the ‘great customer service’ as in the quotation and booking period. Complained but Shelley, a destination coordinator, regrets to inform us that we should have taken extra insurance so there is nothing we can do about pool table. No apologies, no acknowledgement for poor customer service – nothing. They’ve been paid and they don’t care! DO NOT USE.... you've been given the heads up....."
