We pride ourselves on being there for you, even during public holidays. Mead Medical Kalamunda will be open all public holidays from 8:30am to 3pm in 2023, except for Good Friday on April 7th and Christmas Day on December 25th. Your health matters to us, and we are committed to providing continuous care throughout the year.

As a medical practice, we face the challenge of rising costs while Medicare rebates remain stagnant. Medicare rebates have only increased by 1.2% to 2.5% from 1995 to 2012, and from 2012 to 2017, almost all MBS rebates were frozen with no increase. This financial gap between Medicare reimbursements and the costs of running a practice, including wages, rent, consumables, and insurance, makes it unsustainable to bulk bill patients for all services provided.

To adapt to these changes, all our GPs at Mead Medical Group are independent consultants. They set their own individual fee structures and billing methods in compliance with ATO laws. As a result, you may experience varying fees depending on the GP you see. We encourage you to speak directly to your regular GP if you have any concerns or queries regarding your fees.

We offer multiple ways to book appointments for your convenience. You can book a phone or video consultation online through our website or by downloading the AUTOMED app. Alternatively, you can call us at 9293 4455. If a face-to-face examination is necessary, our GPs will make appropriate arrangements for you to have a consultation at our practice.

Please note that our regular private billing fees apply for all services provided at Mead Medical Group. We offer a range of vaccinations for adults and children, including Influenza and Covid. Appointments for vaccinations are available at both our locations. Additionally, if you have cold or flu symptoms, we may recommend COVID testing for your safety and the well-being of others.

For non-urgent queries, you can email us at admin@meadmedical.com.au. However, please remember that this should not replace a consultation with your GP.

At Mead Medical Group, we prioritize urgent care appointments. Our Saturday appointments start from 1pm onwards, and on Sundays and public holidays, we offer appointments all day. To secure an urgent appointment, we recommend booking online early as these slots fill up quickly.

We take great pride in the recognition and awards we have received. Collean Guest, our Practice Manager since 2019, was awarded the 2023 AAPM WA State winner for Practice Manager of the year. Dr. Rebecca Hunt-Davies, one of our esteemed doctors, received the 2021 RACGP General Practice Supervisor of the Year award. Furthermore, Mead Medical was named the General Practice of the Year in 2013/14 by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, showcasing our commitment to excellence.

We also offer additional services such as Bone Density assessments through our visiting service. If you have been diagnosed with diabetes or have high blood glucose levels, our doctors can provide specialized care and support.
