At Mount Helena Primary School, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, which is why we are proud to be a SunSmart school. As the weather begins to warm up, we remind all students to pack their hats every day for school. If you require a new hat, our uniform store will be open on Thursday, August 31st from 2:30 - 3:00pm.
We are excited to host our Faction Athletics Carnival, which will begin on Tuesday and continue on Friday. The carnival includes individual races and team games, providing an opportunity for students to showcase their athletic abilities and team spirit. In celebration of Father's Day, our dedicated P&C committee will be hosting a Father's Day stall on Wednesday. Students will have the opportunity to purchase gifts ranging from $4 to $10. We appreciate your support in making this event a success.
As part of our commitment to fostering a love for reading, we encourage all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 to wear a costume relating to a book. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume in each class. Additionally, students can bring their keep cups for a milo at recess and take a walk around the school to admire the door displays.
At Mount Helena Primary School, we value the input of our staff, students, and community. We have brainstormed expectations for our school and linked them to our core values. We invite you to visit our PBS page to view the matrix and provide feedback through the provided link.
We are thrilled to announce the results from our community PBS survey. Our values include being respectful, responsible, kind, and active learners. To represent these values, our chosen mascot will be a kwenda (bandicoot). Students will be actively involved in designing the mascot.
Please note that a drone will be conducting a Building Condition Assessment of our school property on Friday, August 18th. Images will be taken outside of student break times. If you live near the school, please refer to the attached letter for more information.
Tomorrow, Friday, August 18th, is the National Day of Action Against Bullying. To support this event, we will be having a 'crazy sock' day, where students are encouraged to wear their craziest socks.
Our highly anticipated Book Week parade will take place next Wednesday at 9am. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful costumes. Each class will have the opportunity to parade their costumes, and winners will receive a voucher for a Book Club order.
