"I was sent a text a few days after my appointment asking to review them. I looked online prior to booking to get a rough idea of costs, I made my appointment using the wording on their website. It also states online that "Your colour appointment will include full consultation and quote before we start.". I arrived at the salon a few minutes early, was greeted by a lovely staff member and taken to my seat. I was asked what colour I would like for my balayage. I said that when I have previously had it done I was handed a book with samples and could pick a colour, this is not something they offered me but the hairdresser selected a colour and off we went - looked like it was going to be a surprise. At no point was a discussion/quote provided, however by now I am in the gown, in the chair while she is making the product. I had this exact same style/colour treatment done in January 2022 by the previous salon that used to be in this location and it cost me $197 so I figured surely it can't differ too much (I am aware they are not the same company however I was going off a rough cost of cut/style) so you can imagine my surprise at the end when the total came to $383 for my balayage and a cut/blow dry (basic tidy up of my hair with some layers, not a drastic restyle). I paid it because what was I supposed to do, ask them to glue it all back on?! I wish I had pushed for the quote however I didn't expect it to be twice as much as I had paid previously. If you are a new client I would 100% recommend pushing for the quote beforehand as they seem to be VERY pricey and I don't think their online pricing is accurate (I am aware these prices are stated 'from' and not exact totals however they state a quote will be provided beforehand). During my wash I was also seated in a chair with a known maintenance issue - I had heard staff discussing how it would be fixed soon - and had water running down my neck/back the entire time and left with a soggy t shirt. Staff are friendly, my haircut was nice, salon feels a bit cold due to the concrete/grey look they've gone for, no natural light either as they've covered the front windows. Wish them all the best in their new location but won't be returning personally."
