Currently, Pickering Brook Primary School is in an exciting phase of renewal. We have a new strategic plan, fresh leadership, and upcoming changes that will enhance the learning experience for our students. During this planning phase, we are reviewing school policies and processes with a focus on positive and strengths-based approaches.

We take pride in our comprehensive pastoral care approach, which includes a school chaplain, a student services team, and an active student-led social justice committee. At our school, every student is treated as an individual, and families receive the support they need. We understand that a "one-size fits all" approach does not work, and we strive to meet the unique needs of each student and family.

One of the remarkable aspects of our school is our natural environment. Unlike many schools in Perth, we don't have to create nature play; we live amongst nature! Our students have access to two high-quality natural areas that encourage exploration and nature-based play, alongside well-designed playgrounds and excellent sporting amenities. In 2021-22, we are renovating our classrooms with new layouts, furnishings, and technologies to enhance student engagement and learning. We believe in providing our students with a 2022 learning experience that prepares them for the future.

Pickering Brook Primary School works closely with the local community, including the City of Kalamunda, network schools, and other community groups. This collaboration ensures wrap-around services and an approach that benefits the wider community. We even have a playgroup on-site once a week and a school bus route that collects and drops off students from the wider hills area. Our dedicated staff and community members offer various after-school clubs, providing additional opportunities for our students to explore their interests and talents. Our active P&C (Parents and Citizens Association) takes pride in supporting the school through funding, time, and opportunities, while our School Board provides essential governance and advice.
