"Came on a Saturday night. Waited for one hour for food and still didn’t come with no explanation from the waitress. Not even the entrees. There was a total of three tables waiting in the entire restaurant! The food menu was extremely over priced, $28 for pho and $28 for bbh is absolutely ridiculously but I was ready to give it a try as other reviewers seemed to believe it was worth it. Your average Vietnamese restaurant will have cheaper food that comes faster and probably tastes better too! Extremely poor service, no one came for the entire hour and before that, we had to walk up to the counter to order. Finally couldn’t wait any longer after one hour and told the waitress we would like to pay for just the drinks and leave. She was quite rude and said that the staff didn’t know it was going to be this slow either. Well we would have at least liked someone to come over and let us know the food will take a bit longer. But there was no communication at all. Even if the food was good, it wasn’t worth the wait or the poor attitude from staff."
"A little gem in the rough here. The food had attention to details a lot of restaurants in the area lack. Service was very friendly, we enjoyed our stay and will be back to try more of the menu."
"Wow. Was soooo good. Awesome flavours. Excellent service. A great experience. Rest of menu looks great too. Will definitely have to return to try other dishes. The Seafood Claypot Noodle and Sizzling Beef /Beef fillet Mignon Stir-fry were my favourites."
"Jaw-dropping experience: If I could give 10/5, I will. I wonder how people could give 1 star review for her. A picky eaters like us found 'House of Dao' to be one of the few that gives us the most amazing dining experience. Impeccable dishes: 'House of Dao' is the best Vietnamnese restaurant I've been in my life! We always find dining in any cuisine, there's always 1 or 2 dishes that stands out, but House of Dao is so good; beyond words. We found every dish to have its own flavours and the taste don't get bored even when we finish the whole dish. Price compatible with ingredients: Though the price is slightly on the other end, but I'd rather pay a lil bit more for chef to put in more ingredients, to cook what they want to. I have to say, is worth every penny of what we had last night. Customer service: The young man (the only waiter) who served us last night, he gave us an extremely welcoming vibe, which made the whole dining experience to be so relaxing and cozy! I will definitely return again though is a long drive from SOR, I hope they keep up the good work and I appreciated the chef cook with passions and love! I'll definitely strongly recommend any acquaintance and friends to try this out! Lastly. the food that we've tried last night are Pho, Special Fried Rice, Sizzling Prawn Garlic and Paprika Beef Curry."
"Wow, that took me by surprise. I'm vietnamese and admit I can more harsh when going to a vietnamese restaurant, but this place here is something else. The customer service is top notch, I cannot fault it at all. The lovely owners are friendly, professional and you can tell they take pride in the place and food. The decor was a bit different. Great for couples as it is quite romantic, but good for families or individuals as well. Very clean. Now, onto the best bit. The menu may be lacking a bit (no stuffed chicken wings, rice paper rolls, smoothies, etc) but their limited menu means they have qualities to offer - and boy is that true. We ordered the pho, the size was good, lots of meat, broth was clean, fresh and the taste was faultless. We've also got the bun bo hue (spicy beef soup) as this is our favourite dish - house of Dao did not fail us on this - it tasted different from the usual bun bo hue, but in a good way. It's a bit spicier, more flavourful and just.... well, authentic. We've had countless bun bo hue before and this is easily one of the top. Now, do note their pricing may be higher than other vietnamese restaurants. Bun bo hue is usually $15-17 while here is $25--- but you know what? The ingredients they used is top quality and the amount of meat was substantial (200gr I believe). You pay for quality here. Overall, I recommend giving this place a try. The owners are great and takes pride in their dishes. Our visit to House of Dao was well worth it."
