About National Association of Cinema Operators-Australasia
Welcome to the National Association of Cinema Operators-Australasia (NACO)! Located in the picturesque area of Tallebudgera on Samuel Drive, our institution serves as a crucial establishment and point of interest for the cinema industry in Australia.
At NACO, we are dedicated to representing our members in all aspects of the cinema industry. From licensing fees to film classification and piracy, we tackle "whole of industry" issues that may arise. We understand the importance of protecting the significant investments made by cinema owners in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific region, which is why we closely monitor the collapsing of windows.
Our Board consists of esteemed senior executive members from major national cinema operations, state-based cinema chains, and independent cinemas from each state of Australia. This diverse representation ensures that we have a comprehensive understanding of the industry and can effectively address the needs of our members.
One of our notable achievements is hosting the annual Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC), which has been a successful event for over 75 years. The AIMC attracts key industry delegates from Australia, New Zealand, and overseas, providing a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and industry growth.
As part of our commitment to excellence, NACO maintains active relationships with other international cinema and theatre owner associations. By collaborating and sharing best practices, we ensure that our industry continues to thrive and remains protected. Our dedication to the cinema industry dates back to the 19th century when celluloid was first projected onto a screen, and we continue to uphold this legacy.
Whether you are a cinema owner, industry professional, or simply a movie enthusiast, NACO welcomes you to join our community. Together, we can shape the future of the cinema industry in Australasia and create unforgettable cinematic experiences for all.
