Recently upgraded in 2019 and opened in December, Shamrock Road Reserve is a neighborhood playground that guarantees endless fun for kids. They can race down the exhilarating embankment tube slide, swing to their heart's content on the basket swing, or take turns operating the water pump and water rill. In fact, we encourage children to bring their own toy boats to race down the water rill for added excitement!

For older kids seeking a challenge, they can test their balance on the stepping pipes and log crossings or embark on an adventure exploring the dry creek bed. A timber bridge over the rock-lined swale adds an extra element of exploration and fun.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the enchanting artwork that adorns this playground, featuring a mischievous leprechaun and his pot of gold. Can you spot him? There is also a hidden treasure chest and stunning mosaic artwork featured on one of the planter pots. See if you can uncover the secret treasure!

Youngsters can enjoy the basket swing or engage in secret conversations across the playground using the talking tubes. The matching tube colors indicate which tubes communicate with each other – white, orange, and green.

When it's time to refuel, take advantage of the double barbeque facility funded by the Australian Government's Stronger Communities Program. Enjoy a delicious meal at the shaded picnic table, providing a perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Shamrock Road Reserve also boasts new landscaping, walking paths, and irrigation throughout the grounds. We have ensured that your comfort and convenience are prioritized with the addition of a drinking fountain, shade sails, and a brand new public toilet facility.

The final design of Shamrock Road Reserve was carefully crafted with community feedback in mind, ensuring value for money and innovative playground solutions. We wanted to engage with the community and keep them informed about the draft concept for this reserve, and their feedback was invaluable in shaping the final result.

In addition to the playground, Shamrock Road Reserve is also home to the Hallett Cove Beach Tennis Club, which was founded in 1980. With 6 tennis courts, including 3 with lighting for night-time play, the club offers a fantastic opportunity for tennis enthusiasts. The large clubhouse features a kitchen, bar, and BBQ facilities, making it an ideal place for social tennis events. The club welcomes both junior and senior members and is affiliated with Tennis SA and the Glenelg District Tennis Association. Coaching services are also available for those looking to improve their game.
