About Huntingdale Psychology
Welcome to Huntingdale Psychology, located at 7 Bronzewing Street, Huntingdale, Australia. We are an establishment dedicated to providing exceptional mental health services in a comfortable and supportive environment.
At Huntingdale Psychology, we understand the importance of accessible healthcare, which is why we are pleased to inform you that starting from July 1st, 2023, Medicare rebates have increased. This means that gap payments are reduced, resulting in a decrease in your share of the total payment.
Our team consists of highly qualified professionals, including Psychologists, Counsellors, Coaches, and Clinical Hypnotherapists. With over 50 years of combined life experience, we are equipped to address a wide range of concerns and provide effective solutions.
Convenience is a priority for us, which is why we offer both in-person and telehealth consultations. Whether you prefer face-to-face sessions or the flexibility of virtual appointments, we are here to accommodate your needs.
Please take the time to explore our website and learn more about our team and the issues we specialize in. From anxiety and depression to grief and loss, alcohol and drug use issues, and workplace concerns, we are dedicated to helping you navigate life's challenges.
Colin Longworth, our male psychologist, is available for weekday, evening, and Saturday morning bookings, as well as telehealth sessions. All services are covered by Medicare with a GP referral, and we also work with NDIS clients.
If you have a GP Mental Health Care Plan, you can access Medicare Mental Health services, including phone and video telehealth counseling. We believe that everyone should have access to quality mental healthcare, regardless of their location or circumstances.
Colin Longworth, our registered psychologist since 2008, brings a unique perspective to his practice. Having studied as a mature-aged student while working full time in other settings, he understands the challenges of balancing various needs. His benevolent curiosity and desire to assist individuals and couples in their journey of self-discovery are the driving forces behind his work.
Our goal is to provide psychological and related services at a reasonable price, ensuring that everyone can access the support they need. We offer a highly manualized program developed over 20 years, focusing on practical tools to lower and manage anxiety. These tools are not just concepts but can be incorporated into daily life, making a tangible difference.
You can find us at the front of the Huntingdale-Thornlie Medical Centre, conveniently located near Warton Road. There is no need to go into the Medical Centre reception; simply follow the "Book Online" sign, and you'll find us directly behind it.
For alternate Monday appointments, we use a room at Pier Street Medical, situated behind HBF Park near the corner of Brewer Street.
In addition to depression, anxiety, and stress, Colin specializes in various areas of professional interest, including alcohol and other drugs, domestic violence, family of origin issues, grief, loss, and change, and prepare/enrich programs.
We believe in the power of telehealth sessions, especially in today's digital age. With a GP Mental Health Care plan, anyone in Australia can access Medicare-subsidized telehealth sessions. All you need is a smartphone or computer with good internet access and a webcam.
If you identify as gay or lesbian, seeing a psychologist can be beneficial in several ways. Whether you feel the need to hide your true self in certain settings, want to reduce internalized homophobia or heterosexism, or struggle with guilt or fear, we are here to support you. We also address work-life balance, difficult working relationships, unemployment or underemployment, and the impact of "isms" such as sexism, racism, heterosexism, and ageism.
At Huntingdale Psychology, we understand that emergencies can arise, which is why we provide information on Lifeline and Samaritans helplines, as well as emergency services.
Our office hours are Monday to Thursday, with evening appointments available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Alternate Mondays are reserved for appointments at our Perth East office. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
We look forward to assisting you on your journey towards improved mental health and well-being. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
