Lesmurdie Falls National Park
About the Business
Welcome to Lesmurdie Falls National Park, a stunning natural attraction located in the City of Kalamunda, Western Australia. As an establishment, park, and point of interest, our institution offers a range of activities and amenities to ensure an unforgettable experience for visitors.
At Lesmurdie Falls National Park, we believe in providing the practical ‘know how’ for adventuring into Western Australia’s national parks confidently, responsibly, and safely. Whether you enjoy fishing, boating, paddling, snorkelling, or diving, our park has something for everyone. We also offer campgrounds for those looking to immerse themselves in nature, with availability for non-bookable campgrounds.
As an institution, we recognize and acknowledge the Whadjuk people as the traditional owners of Mundy Regional Park, where our park is located. We pay our respects to their heritage and culture.
One of the highlights of Lesmurdie Falls National Park is the stunning views over the Swan Coastal Plain from our lookouts, which are just a short walk from the picnic area on Falls Road. This area is particularly popular in Spring when the falls are flowing, and wildflowers are on display. To explore the park further, we offer several walk trails of varying degrees of difficulty, allowing visitors to choose according to their level of fitness and the time they have available.
Please note that there is no drinking water available at this site, so we kindly ask visitors to bring their own. For more information on the trails and facilities, we recommend visiting TrailsWA.
When planning your visit, it is important to consider traveling with a personal location beacon (PLB). In the event of an emergency or if you need to be rescued, a PLB could potentially save your life.
If you are interested in the local flora and fauna, we encourage you to visit the Atlas of Living Australia, where you can find a list of species recorded within a 5km radius of the Lesmurdie Falls Picnic Area.
For your convenience, there is a toilet block close to the parking area, with access via a sloping concrete ramp and a metal side handrail.
If you are looking for a family-friendly trail, we recommend the Lesmurdie Brook Loop, a 1.5-kilometer trail in Mundy Regional Park that is suitable for all ages.
Lesmurdie Falls, situated in the Mundy Regional Park in the Perth Hills, is one of the more spectacular waterfalls on the Darling Range escarpment. With a number of walk trails to explore, the time you spend here will depend on your level of fitness and the degree of difficulty you choose.
Lastly, the Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional owners throughout the state and their ongoing connection to the land, waters, and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures, as well as to Elders both past and present.
Come and experience the beauty of Lesmurdie Falls National Park, where adventure and natural wonders await you.

"Lesmurdie Falls offers fantastic views of Perth City as well as boasting fantastic falls with 2 viewing platforms above the water alongside a third on the ground at the foot of the falls. There is also some fantastic picnic spots close to the falls."
"Such a nice day to visit the waterfall here. Air is crisp, wild flowers are happily blooming, big stream after some rainy days, and fab view of Perth. Very accessible trails for all family members."
"A must see if you are in Perth in winter. We had so much rain in the last fortnight and the track was amazing, well maintained and excellent for all ages. What a great Sunday outing."
"Beautiful place for a hike, family picnic. Has a few nice picnic benches to sit and eat and enjoy the view, but no public barbecue around to cook, so carry your food stuff. Public toilets available, but no drinking water. Walking ramp from car park for wheelchair access. There are railings to hold at difficult steep spots to make the hike easier even for slightly older generation and younger kids. Different trail options available. The easiest hike option is less than 700metres and not difficult at all. Ample parking spots as well."
"Family hiking and loved it. Not too crowded, and superb views await at the top of the pink trail... We did the purple and pink trails. Waterfalls flowing beautifully and not dried out. Terrain is a bit wet being Autumn, so be wary of where you put your feet as it's slippery. Otherwise, a very nice walk."
