"We had some concerns around the interactions our child was having with teachers over the years. The issues became consistently worse throughout this year to the point our child refused to go to school. She would cry before school, begging me not to send her and then burst into tears in the car begging me not to send her back. This was daily heartbreak. The incidents that occurred in that class room left our child anxious and so nervous she would make a mistake. To the point she would completely shut down. Her Paediatrician said she was in a constant state of 'freeze' (rather than fight or flight). We now know that her struggles with her school work were down to the anxiety she faced (at the hand of her teachers) in the classroom and not her lack of ability as she is thriving at her new school. Other parents have also had serious issues. A family I am close with have had to deal with torture for a number of years with notes being written on toilet doors, pieces of paper put in the child’s bag and pencil case. Notes telling this sweet child to self-harm and that no one likes her. These notes have been a near daily occurrence. Rather than support this family, the school blamed the victim. Stating she was writing these notes herself. This led the child requiring mental health support. We all know what child was responsible as she had been caught doing the same thing a number of years ago. She would also physically assault this same child by pushing her on the stairs and deliberately barging past her, nearly knocking her down on a regular basis. The school did NOTHING to support this family. As a result, we had no confidence they could support ours. Other examples include a teacher taping a child’s hands to their desk as a form of punishment (the teacher is still employed at the school) another teacher telling the class that the expression on peoples faces when they die tells you if they are going to heaven or hell. Those who die in pain apparently are doomed. The above is just the TIP of the iceberg. Since we removed our child from Marymount Primary we have encountered numerous families who have pulled their children from the school due to serious issues with teachers, lack of action by the school, lack of support, and excessive bullying and did I mention teachers! This was a big decision and one we didn’t take lightly. After touring a number of schools we found one that is a perfect fit for our child. I have never seen her so happy. She is excited to go to school. She is thriving both socially and academically. School should be safe space both emotionally and physically. Unfortunately, Marymount was none of those things for our child and SO many others."

"Removed children from this school. Bulling by both teachers and students is rampant. They deliver the bare minimum. New school has SO much more to offer in the form of clubs, learning support to name a few. We have much happier children who are thriving. Since our kids left we have heard horror story after horror story. If you value your child's mental health, avoid this school."

"Worst school that I have ever gone to so bad it’s not funny all the staff lie to the parents faces in your meetings there all fake and bully’s ps anyone from the school that cares you have ruined my future Marymount they can’t even write a school recommendation for me now I have to go to a really bad school so just think before you send your kid here I went there last year the teachers gave me problems from prep ps all of last year’s yr 6 teachers this is reid"
