Sonas Early Learning & Care Bayswater
About the Business
Welcome to Sonas Early Learning & Care Bayswater! Located on Newton Street in Bayswater, Australia, our establishment is a point of interest for families seeking high-quality care and education for their children.
At Sonas, our dedicated staff truly love spending quality time with your little ones. We understand that transitioning to a new environment can be anxiety-inducing for children, so we strive to break down any barriers they may have and create a happy, caring, and supportive environment. Engaging with the children and having fun together is at the heart of what we do.
What sets Sonas apart from other family day cares in Bayswater? We are constantly reflecting on our practices to ensure that you and your children receive the highest quality care in line with our service philosophy, the National Quality Framework, and current research on best practices. Our approach is underpinned by Sonas Learning Studios, which provide open-ended learning environments for children to engage, explore, learn, and develop their skills and abilities.
Our ultimate aim is to treasure and protect the childhood experiences of our precious little ones. For our babies, we provide a safe space where they can develop important skills and receive the care they need. While still being able to explore other studios and engage with older children, our babies have the opportunity to transition to the larger Sonas Family Group when they show signs of social and emotional readiness, as well as key motor skills.
At Sonas, we offer a range of studios to cater to different interests and abilities. In the Zen studio, children can engage in quiet play and explore independent experiences, including puzzles, sand trays, and reading. This studio also serves as a sleep and rest space, incorporating yoga and mindfulness activities.
In the STEM studio, children discover and learn through science, technology, engineering, and mathematical concepts. The Arts studio allows children to explore their creative side through various forms of art, including visual, dramatic, and expressive arts. Our garden not only provides space for outdoor physical play but also incorporates elements from all other studios, enhancing the learning experience.
The family room is where we encourage children's independence and self-help skills, fostering their confidence and self-esteem. In this space, children engage in meaningful mealtimes with children of all ages, learning important social skills and etiquette. We believe in building a child's community, allowing them to form relationships with children of different age groups to introduce new skills that will support their growth and development.
At Sonas Early Learning & Care Bayswater, we believe in giving our children roots and wings. Our dedicated staff, engaging learning environments, and focus on treasuring and protecting childhood experiences ensure that your child receives the best care and education possible. Come and join our Sonas family today!

"I have worked for Sonas for 5 years now! Great company and an amazing team to work with. Bosses are very proud of what they do and are always there to support everyone!! Staff are very friendly and adore the children who attend! I recommend sending your children here."
"My son started attending when he was 8 months old and i relucantly returned to work. The staff were amazing ans supported both our little one and us through the transition. Well over a year on and we are just as pleased. We are amazed with our little mans development and definitely feel it is attributed to the staff and their investment in the kids. Our son loves the staff so much that we could never think of moving him. Very happy and would strongly recommend!"
"My nephew attends Sonas Bayswater and i know that he is happy and well taken care of whilst there. The educators are very friendly and easy to talk to and management is always ready to listen and support where needed"
"Our son has a walking delay and the Educators supported his development by implementing strategies that his Physio advised. They came up with tailored solutions that helped. We value the nutritious meal plans offered that include a variety of options, and the free parent workshops that provide us with skills. Most of all, our son is thriving. He knows the Educators by name and looks forward to going to daycare. Thank you Sonas for your support and care for our son."
"My child attended this centre for approximately 4 weeks early in 2022, but I wanted to share our experience to shed light for other families. Despite Management claiming that the centre was fully staffed, it never seemed to be enough staff members to help with the emotional time of drop off in the mornings. Every single morning I came in, there were children crying and needing comfort and no staff member avaliable. I never expected 1:1 as I understand that's unrealistic, but more than 2 staff members was absolutely needed. Especially when I walk outside with my child and see a single staff member in the corner closest to the parking lot, and several children at the other end of the outdoor area with no other staff in sight (only one add'l inside). This is careless and dangerous. Centre communication was terrible. Verbal messages to educators were not shared amongst other staff members. Emails (at least 2) to centre management have STILL never been replied to, nor acknowledged. Very abrupt dismissal of the lead/most tenured educator was never clarified which threw up major red flags. Multiple occasions at pick-up, I walked into the family room and/or discovery room to find my child crying, upset and anxious with NO staff member to comfort him. Absolutely unacceptable, especially on a repeated basis. Pick-up time is so chaotic I actually felt anxious prior to walking into the centre. The doorway to the family room is always crowded with children and parents, we have to go on a scavenger hunt for our children's shoes and hat, and again, there are often children upset/emotional with no staff members tending to their needs. Hygiene of children at the end of the day is despicable! Dirty faces with leftover food and snot, hands don't look like they've been cleaned at all during the day, and their feet look like they've hiked barefoot for a week. Again, unacceptable. I witnessed one staff member speaking to my child in a cruel, impatient manner while clearly being irritated by him showing emotion. I truly hope this feedback can assist in making improvements because based on our experience, this centre is/was not equipped to provide proper childcare services."
