She's perhaps the first doctor I've had who I feel really listens to me as a patient and goes out of her way to find solutions in a quick but also compassionate manner. "I'm not one to leave reviews, but I found this to be pretty unacceptable & hope that my experience encourages better patient care. I booked an appointment over the phone, seeking support services for intimate partner violence, & getting a mental health treatment plan so I could pursue counseling related to my situation. I specifically asked on the phone while booking my appointment, if the doctor could assist with intimate partner violence, PTSD, & create a mental health treatment plan for me, and was assured with confidence that I'd be supported. Additionally, I also checked the website before calling to make my appointment, where it states that they can treat anxiety states, depression, grief/loss, and a list of other mental health disorders. I was texted 10 minutes prior to my appointment that the doctor couldn't help me with a mental health treatment plan, & that the receptionist who booked my appointment was new & unaware. When I arrived at the practice, I was told that they had already booked a different patient in for my appointment time, & received no further support for my domestic violence situation. I was turned away at the door & told to go somewhere else. I understand that miscommunications occur, but when I was notified of my canceled appointment, I was already in an Uber, all the way from Coolangatta. I'm a non-citizen, young, new to the area after escaping domestic violence, don't have my own transportation, & I found their indifference towards the situation unprofessional & concerning. Many victims of DV are in similarly vulnerable situations & it's not easy to reach out for support. Additionally, while I don't know the exact circumstances, I feel that if they had enough time to book someone else in for my appointment time, they probably could have provided me with more than 10 minutes notice? Or, at the very least, helped familiarize me with other forms of DV support in the area. When I explained my circumstances at a different practice, it was taken extremely seriously, I was given immediate support, & booked in to see someone straight away. I will say, the receptionist who originally booked my appointment, although misinformed, was incredibly kind, supportive & helpful. I'm sure this clinic offers great services to existing patients seeking other medical services, but I found the handling of this situation to be incredibly unprofessional & wrong, & hope that similar situations are handled differently in the future by providing sufficient notice for cancellations, or directing patients in unsafe & distressing situations towards reliable support when it can't be offered by the practice."

"I went to this clinc today to recieve ongoing care as suggested when relased from hospital less than a week ago, I was not offered even the most basic of care blood presure taken etc. I was simply sent away and told to go back to hospital. Dr peta conncunnan I hope you can sleep at night given your total disregard for someone odviously in distress and needing help. Thanks for nothing if I could give you no stars I would, don't waste your time or money going to this clinic."
