Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre
About the Business
Welcome to the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, located at Martin, Mills Road East, 322 in Australia. Our institution is not just a point of interest or a tourist attraction, but also a store where you can shop for a cause. When you shop with us, all profits go towards rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing black cockatoos back into the wild.
One of our popular items is the Kaarakin Beanie with a turned-up cuff. Made from 100% stretchy acrylic, this black beanie features the Kaarakin logo and is both warm and comfortable. The turned-up cuff will keep your ears warm during chilly days. It's a one-size-fits-all design that you'll love.
During your visit, you'll have the opportunity to meet some of our resident animals. Amy, the resident Alpine dingo, is the affectionate sister of Alex. She loves meeting visitors during our tour weekends and enjoys her daily walks. You can also meet Fluffbum, who lives with our other friendly black cockatoos in Kaarakin's interactive aviary. Fluffbum might just adopt you instead of the other way around!
Henry is a sweet cockatoo with a little mystery. He follows you around and stops at your feet to say hello. You can learn more about Henry by adopting him and supporting our conservation efforts.
If you visit Skye in the interactive aviary, be prepared for a fashion makeover. Skye, our resident fashion victim, loves restyling buttons and jewelry with her beak. And don't forget about Wubby, one of the lovely Red Tail Black Cockatoo ladies that call our interactive aviary home. By adopting Wubby, you can learn more about her and contribute to our conservation center.
In addition to our animal encounters, we offer beautiful black cockatoo photo calendars for 2022 and 2023. These calendars feature curated photos generously provided by our volunteers and guests. Each month showcases stunning A4 photographs of Kaarakin's resident black cockatoos and dingoes. By purchasing these calendars, you'll not only enjoy beautiful imagery but also support our rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
If you're looking for a unique way to support our clinic efforts, consider adopting a rescued black cockatoo. You can choose a digital certificate, paper certificate, or both, and receive a certificate with information about the patient you've adopted. For example, you can adopt Forest, a Red Tailed Black Cockatoo found on the ground in Argyle. Forest is currently being cared for and rehabilitated by our amazing team of clinic volunteers.
We also offer various merchandise, such as notecards featuring the reproduction print of an acrylic painting of Courtly, the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo. Our enamel pins showcase the male and female feathers of the Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo, and our A5 journals and A6 notepads are perfect for writing, sketching, or keeping a visual diary.
At Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, we value and acknowledge the Whadjuk Noongar people as the traditional custodians of the land. We respect their Elders, both past and present, and strive to live and learn together to keep this place beautiful for future generations.
Thank you for supporting our conservation efforts and joining us in our mission to protect and preserve black cockatoos. Visit us today and experience the wonders of Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre in Australia.

"These guys do amazing work rehabilitating critically endangered black cockatoos. Please support them and learn how we can all help to save this species before it's too late. The highlight was getting to interact with them by feeding gumnuts in the massive walk-in aviary!"
