"Lovely lunch in a country pub on a cold wet day in winter. I have driven past for many years and was so glad I decided to stop. Our waitress Natalie was lovely helpful and epitomised a country pub. We booked so they knew we were coming and the food was excellent. Nothing fancy just good pub food. Ambience was spot on being in an historic building."
"Beautiful meal, friendly service. Definitely coming back here next time I'm in the area."
"Visited on 11/03/23 for lunch. Great food and service. Nice selection on menu and good value for money."
"Service so bad it defies belief! Don’t walk in and expect service any time quickly- they’re not prepared for ‘walk ins’- 50 minute wait for four meals when there were 12 other people in the pub. Kids hamburger- dry meat, dry bun and a slice of cheese took nearly 50 mins. “Manager” should learn about customer service. Smirking her way through complaints gets you a one star review, and a good manager would know that a bad review spreads ten times faster than a good review. And no, there were not people ordering food outside because nothing came out of that kitchen our entire wait except one garlic bread. Will never go again, and we’re locals who go out a lot- this place is an absolute wast of time and money."
"The Royal Oak Hotel is a lovely country pub in the style and ambience of an old English pub. We had the pleasure of having lunch at the Royal Oak, mid-week. The menu was very reasonably priced with a good range of choices for entrees, mains and deserts as well as daily specials. A good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were available. The presentation of the ample-sized plates of food as well as the quality of ingredients and the cooking was simply excellent. Natalie was our host/waitress who was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our food which arrived at just the right time. There is a range of seating options from 1/2 people to tables for 6."
