Reviews of Tony Ale Fruit & Vegetable Market
"The butcher is great in there and the pies from them are absolutely delicious and I can definitely recommend The fruit and vegetables are good quality at Tony Ales but the section with the precooked meals from Tony Ales are a bit of a ripoff I had curry with rice from there a couple of times now, just to find rice covering all the bottom of the container and half the container on top with only a little curry (half) on top so it looks like from the top it’s half half Spaghetti with breadcrumbs was lots of crumbs on the top and almost a cm of crumbs covering the bottom of the container with a bit spaghetti in the middle It’s ok for fruits and vegetables even though they’re a bit more expensive The butcher Marco’s fresh meats and the bakery are great and very friendly staff too"
"I have been shopping here for years, I have always been an happy customer, however I have been disappointed lately from the customer service from the deli ham section. I believe they changed the staff and I have been served by rude ladies lately. I still did not complained and I am always polite but I have to say they rolled their eyes like they didn’t want to serve me and I did not go there at closing time because I understand it is annoying for them to get there at the last minute because they are cleaning the machines . Few weeks ago I asked for thin sliced ham as I usually do weekly, ( I spend lots of money as I also get prosciutto which is expensive and other few cold sliced meat). That day I had my kids with me so I was distracted and didn’t check that the ham was sliced thin ( usually they show me the first slice and ask me if I am happy with that) but also I should be able to trust them if I kindly asked for thin sliced ham and I also made her repeat if she understood thin please . After spending 50$ at the deli and more in fruit veg and other things I went home and next morning opened my ham and found thick sliced like steak not able to give that to the kids for lunch box that morning and feeling really disappointed because the lady said yes I asked her twice if she understood thin and I also apologized for the inconvenience of having to slice 300 grams of ham thin but that’s the only way I like it and can eat it. I also purchased lemon pepper chicken and I could not eat that either because it was so thick and isn’t supposed to be that way if I asked it to have it thin right. So next day I went back ( I did not touch the products I had the receipt) I kindly explained the situation to the till lady who was very nice and understanding and she tried to call management with an announcement. I waited 15 minutes apparently they were on lunch break( it was around 2.30 pm). Finally a young guy came and I was surprised he was the manager because I expected someone who has been there for long time considering the name of the shop and the quality I always experienced. He told me he could not do anything for me because the product was sliced already. He didn’t apologize about the customer service I received even when I told him After the first lot I needed something else and the deli lady was not giving me attention and I felt I had to ask her twice to get me something more so the attitude isn’t right at all there. I explained I could not eat that and he just kept saying it was my fault for not checking but I asked it to have it thin and I usually get the lady to show me the slice thickness … I told him I am loyal customer who goes there every week and spend lots in fruit veg and deli and if he didn’t fix this I wasn’t going to shop there ever again and he said that was fine. I am a mum I work hard full time and this was a big deal for me because I didn’t have my kids lunch for the morning and as I said I am working full time and no time to waste. I am also Italian so I know how ham should be sliced and I worked myself in a deli in the past and their service was really unacceptable. I never complain and I have lots of patience but this time I wasted my time and my money as the product could not be consumed the way the lady sliced it! I am so disappointed by the way the “ manager” dealt with it and I will never go back ever again! If you want to low your quality and customer service then I am sorry but I can see your business going down and I told all my friends not to go there again so unfortunately that’s what it is."
"Great fresh produce available here. The butcher is fantastic, expect to pay a bit more but the quality is very high. The home made yogurt is super tasty, if you visit be sure to grab a tub."
"Shopped here today for the first time. They have plenty of premium food and beverage options, fruit and vegetables to choose from and a butcher area including cooked pies. The pies are good value and taste great for around $8 each. I will drive this way again for another pie. Their sausage rolls are also great. Pricing of other items is a bit higher than I would like. Meat anything up to $65 a kg depending what your buying. The lay out could be better. We were bumping into people and it's hard to walk around with a trolley. Although it's priced high I would buy again. Recommend."
