"Not only is this venue filled with charm, the food makes you feel transcendent. Imagine having the worst hangover of your life and putting lips to the most delicious filet o fish you’ve ever had. This took me to a place that I haven’t experienced since my first love. Thank god this venue opened in the city, it was not only necessary but required. Thank you for opening. I am relieved. Fish filet."
"Went on opening night Downstairs bar was out of this a world and cocktails on point Upstairs great area with cosy outdoor area out the back Food ok but needs a bit of tweaking from what we sampled. Ploughman's pumpernickel missed the mark and potted crab a bit buttery (liquid) would be better solid spreadable But highlight was the music, awesome mix of 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s ... to die for Love it! Please keep the music same and service awesome Went back today ... tried a pie. Awesome...although a bit expensive for the serving size"
"What a venue with food to match. Staff super friendly and helpful and the down stairs bar just tops it all off. 100% will be back"
"Visited opening evening, was blown away by the decor and the service. The outdoor area feels private and special, will be beautiful on summer nights. The downstairs was like visiting a secret luxurious bar, the red velvet and high ceiling feels like nothing else in the Perth region. Tried a decent amount of the menu, the best was the scotch egg. Will be going back to try more of the mains next time. Definitely a special place!"
"There is something to be said about venues that open when they’re actually ready and feel lived. Walking in the doors of Edward and Ida is like strolling into a long-standing, classy, neighbourhood pub. Proper English energy, attention to detail, but a warm & homely feeling that comes down to much more than just low lighting and gorgeous decor. Staff are kind, genuine and easy going, cocktails are inspired and considered without being pompous. Also the wine list slaps. Duh. The food is comforting and to die for - as to be expected. Smoking area has a fire- how good. Exposed brick, cool taxidermy, plus the most extensive collection of mini bottles I’ve ever seen (backlit to perfection). The music has taken me from 80s pop bangers to Australiana classics and total old-school pub ballads (but in a really good way). I’ll be back for the Batanga and the visual extravaganza."
